Night of the Living Dead Blu-Ray from Network?

Does anyone have any more information about this...?

Is this another good transfer (but hopefully not cropped like the other one) - or could it just be a substandard crappy print that has been upscaled?

Any help would be appreciated!

Widely considered to be one of cinema's seminal horror movies, Night of the Living Dead launched the career of director George A. Romero and brought zombies very firmly into the public consciousness. Made on a shoestring budget, the film is now an acknowledged classic of its genre, its shadow casting an influence over any number of horror films made over the last four decades. This DVD release contains a brand-new transfer taken from original 35mm film elements, plus the original cinema trailer.

Whilst placing flowers at the grave of her father, Barbra is attacked by a lumbering, mysterious figure. She flees the scene, seeking sanctuary at a nearby farmhouse where she meets Ben, who has arrived in a pickup truck. They soon realise they are not alone when the farmhouse is surrounded by more mysterious figures - all of them want in, and all of them are hungry...

I would be prepared to give up most of the extras in order to have a REALLY good transfer of the movie.

I bought the Blu ray from optimum and was gutted when I got back and watchedit to find it was that shitty AR. Might be tempted to swap if this has a better aspect ratio.

Yes the AR was flipping awful on the Optimum disc also thought the Doc was the worst I've seen. Wasn't worth the £5 I paid for it.

Yes, looking here there does appear to be major cropping going on.

As always, a well thought out and entertaining review, thanks! The growing popularity of this much derided horror sub genre surely has much to do with its allegorical leanings; what with endemics and climate change as constant fears; the classic type zombie films capture our fears of society dissolving into anarchy rather effectively.
