My thoughts exactly. I think that every audio or visual entertainment should come with some sort of blurb, whether DVD, CD, Blu ray, X box or other format. Even when I was a kid in the early 80s buying cassettes I thought this.

It probably stems from having parents who were jazz obsessives- every Blue Note, Reprise or Contemporary album always had a huge schpiel on the back written by Nat Hentoff, Ira Gitler, Leonard Feather or the likes of, and it was a smuch part of the package as the music itself. Strangely enough, when ECM became the prominent jazz label in the 70s, with their minimalist aesthetic and complete lack of information of any kind, my Dad lost interest.

Yes, some of the Paul Naschy DVDs had great booklets... I'm always disappointed when I don't find one.

The Odeon 'Best Of British' discs all have excellent liner notes. Who knows, maybe one day they might ask for my services...

At last, the finished article!!

I was still tempted to go for the 'dancing with the doll and turning to camera' shot for the cover, but I think theone below looks rather spiffing. Nice tagline as well.

Shame it isn't out for Halloween, but November should nicely precipitate the (Ghost Story For) Christmas market. Looking forward to seeing it on the shelves...

Unfortunately, 'twas only after the final article had been sent off to be designed, printed and replicated that I looked over the film and documentary a third time and realised I'd left in several glaring errors!!

They're only little things, but they matter to me. For a start, I referred to Marianne Faithfull as being five weeks late on set, when in fact it was only five days: due to reading IMDB, I spelt her character's surname as 'Kwykwer' when in fact it's 'Crickworth': the 'jaunty opening theme' I refer to actually occurs about seven or eight minutes in, and there were a couple of occasions where I thought my syntax was just a bit shit.

I did email a revised version off to Marc but it was too late; the deal was done and dusted. So now, heaven forfend, I stand the chance of being seen as one of those writers I'm always complaining about, like Andy Boot, who don't do their research properly and leave their work full of glaring inaccuracies. You could hope that no-one would notice, but I'LL notice, and that's bad enough. Especially if I'm trying to make a living outta this kinda jive.

I shall post a full Errata on the Nucleus site the minute I get the time.....

I got this on wednesday & I'm looking forward to seeing it for the first time in at least a decade (The last screening by the beeb whenever that was).Terrific extras too for the price which put the major distributors to shame.
