    Tombs Of The Blind Dead

I know that this has been suggested before but I think it needs suggesting again.

This is a bona-fide classic European horror classic, the AB US disc is now OOP so this has also become somewhat of a sought after film on DVD.

It would absoloutely kick ass if AB UK could release this film on DVD, either on its own or as a double-bill with the first sequel (RETURN OF THE BLIND DEAD) like AB US did.

I remember before that Marc said he was concened the films breast slicing scene would still prove a point of contention with the BBFC. I think that since similar scenes have been passed in NIGHTS OF TERROR (or ZOMBIE DEAD as Vipco crudely titled it) and AB UK's own NIGHTMARE CITY, this film would get all its previous BBFC cuts waived if it were to be re-submitted.

So AB UK, is there any chance of us seeing those undead templar knights ride upon British shores again???

    Wonderful movie.
I have the VHS tape and the Anchor Bay DVD.
Much better than CITY OF THE RUNNING DEAD aka NIGHTMARE CITY.

I am looking forward to NIGHT OF THE SEAGULLS too. According to several sources this one should be as good as TOMBS OF THE BLIND DEAD. Both movies have a creepy atmosphere.

I have not seen any of these movies but would love to. I looked on Amazon the other day and they were selling Tombs for $ 140.

Surely if Anchor Bay UK released it ,it would be like a liscence to print money

Sorry it's more like $120, which is still ridiculous. I e-mailed Anchor Bay US and asked them if there were any plans to re-release it. No plans at the moment was the reply

Definitely try ebay for TOMBS. I entered several auctions trying to get a copy, but the bidding usually got as high as £25 - £30. In the end, I lucked out and ended up paying £17 which ain't too bad.

I e-mailed Blue Underground with the suggestion that they released the entire BLIND DEAD series (all four of 'em) as a boxset. Hopefully they've taken it into consideration.

theres a german company released all for blind dead films- but theyre in german!!!

i shelled out a tenner for some cheap brentwood box set (dead time stories)- the 3rd and 4th ones are on there as terrible transfers- horror of the zombies is terrible (and cut by the looks of it) and night of the seagulls is quality.

i'd like to see return of the blind dead in its original uncut spanish language version.

oh yeah- i got the anchor bay double dvd off ebay for a tenner, as a buy it now- it had been on about an hour

For those of you interested, the "DEADTIME STORIES" box set from Amazon in the US has the 3rd and 4th in the series - the 3rd is set aboard a boat, and the reviews I read about it were lukewarm - but I actually enjoyed it. It's called "Zombie Flesh Eater" on the box set.

The 4th is excellent - Doomwatch Crossed with the Blind Dead, with loads of atmosphere.

The Box set also contains "Horror Rises From The Tomb" with Paul Naschy, and a mish mash of UK/US horror (Including The Ghoul).

All films are pretty low quality, but it was only 9 dollar!

I saw this years ago from what I remember, it was absolutely dreadful! It was three short films that were made by cutting down four feature films. One of them was Equinox, which is supposed to be quite good.

The quality of the prints on those box sets is generally dreadful, but I'm glad at the chance to see some of the stuff. The worst one I have is a Naschy Film (Fury of the Wolfman). It's almost impossible to watch!

Funny u mention this as im involved in a thread on another forum where the same thing was said. Blue Underground apparently have the rights for the first 2 so would only need to purhcase the rights to the 3rd and 4rth. Perhaps this will happen after their Mondo and Lee box sets!
