    DVD Pacific - Slow Deliveries???

I placed two orders with DVD Pacific at the start of March and haven't received them yet. Normally even using surface mail (as I always do) they only tend to take about a week to ten days to arrive so i'm starting to get a bit worried now...

Has anyone else been experiencing slow delivery times from DVD Pacific at the moment.

Also if the worst came to the worst how good are they when it comes to replacing lost orders etc?

    Cheers in advance!

Re: DVD Pacific - Slow Deliveries???

I've noticed deliveries have been a bit slow from DVD Pacific during March, but the postmark on the parcels sent seem to indicate that it's UK Customs that are holding things up. Sometimes we're a bit hasty to attack the companies we order from, when in actual fact the delay is being caused by our very own Customs. Don't forget, it's that time of year again when Customs start taking an interest in imported goods and see if there any tax levies they can apply - it's coming to the end of the financial year and I guess they need to maximise their profits!

As for replacements, wait out the statutory period, as outlined by DVD Pacific in their terms and conditioons, then email them asking for replacements. I've done it a few times in the event of lost packages and they have sent replacements immediately - no questions asked. They even apologise! Their customer service is excellent.

I've noticed recently that Play are also not as fast as they used to be. I tend to be waiting 4-5 days now instead of the 1-2 that I used to get with them.

Dvd Pacific have been great so far.I have used them for about a year now.
Although in this time I have noticed parcels that were taking 5 days now take 8 or 9.

Also I have had an order with them for 3 months and part of the order is not complete. Its out,but they must be having trouble getting hold of stock.

How far up north are you? I always get them within 2 days.

My last order from pacific took 13 days, which I think is none too shabby for surface mail.

I doubt you'll get a refund. After all, RM's charges are not the fault of DVD Pacific. I doubt RM will return the items, if unclaimed I'm sure some bright spark working for RM will find a home for them.

I'm in Notts. I always used to get them within two day, though. I guess now that internet shopping is on the increase, most online shops are taking that little bit longer to fulfil the orders. I ordered the new Prince album last Friday and it only arrived yesterday.

Just sent an email about a shipment I'm refusing to pay Royal Mail's charges on, what are DVDPacific like about returned shipments.
A few months back I received the BIRD WITH THE CRYSTAL PLUMAGE DVD from DVD Pacfic and was greeted with a very unwelcome customs charge. I did not understand how I could receive a charge for an item well under the £18 limit (£12 I think). After looking at the declaration on the parcel I could see why, the 1 closely resembled a 7 though I thought it was clear to see that it was a 1. It would seem that Customs officer's eyesight is not what it should be, probably after watching all that ultra hardcore porn that they confiscate!

Anyway, I contacted DVD Pacific and told them of this error saying that it was their fault I had been incorrectly charged that they should reimburse me. This made no difference at all and I had to take the matter up with Customs and the Royal Mail myself. It was nice to have Customs admit that they were wrong and send me a refund, something of a moral victory for me. But it has been several months on and Royal Mail have still not refunded their handling charge despite saying they would.

So good luck Sic with getting DVD Pacific to give you a refund. I try use them sparingly these days and use Amazon marketplace more but they are so damn cheap!

I've ordered quite a few discs from DVD Pacific in the last 2/3 weeks and they've all arrived within 6 days (airmail). They're still the best imo.

yOU THINK DVD PACIFIC IS BAD, TRY ENTERPRISES DVD. I've had a movie on order from them for six months now. To be fair,if your pre-ordering they are pretty good and you'll usually get them before the street date. Sadly, their more obscure stuff and european horror titles take forever!

I'm still waiting for an order from Caiman that shipped on 28th February, so I guess it must be customs causing the delay.

I would never consider DVD Pacific in any sense, just believe that they should have taken responsibility for a matter which was their fault.

I always use the surface mail option and still receive the discs within 6 or 7 days.

    Yeah Royal Mail are cocks,

Also I'm not asking for a refund, I'm asking for credit for what I paid for the item, not counting the $6.50 postage I paid.
to order something else below the £18 extortion threshold.

    Just got a reply

"Yes, if you refuse an item, and it is returned to us in mint condition we can give you the credit into your DVD Pacific Account for the cost of the DVD only. You could then use this balance to purchase any other products from our website.

    thanks!
