Talking Nature On The Rampage movies

I don't know about any of you other forum fans, but i personally am a big devotee of "Nature on the rampage" movies and i wish more of them would show their faces on DVD.
I'm talking about the likes of Squirm, Slugs, Kingdom Of The Spiders, The Swarm, Tarantulas:The Deadly Cargo, Ants:Panic At Lakewood Manor, Frogs, Grizzly, Day Of The Animals and The Savage Bees just to name a few.
I know some of the above titles are available on R1 DVD but i'd like to see the rest turning up some time and not just on U.S. shores, either.
Of course, there's been numerous other bad bug/animal films released in recent years but i still have a fondness for the old school brand of mother nature's revenge.

I hate to admit it, but I do like watching "Swarm" with Caine,Widmark,Chamberlain etc and "Empire of the Ants" with Joan Collins,my favourite of recent times has to be "Eight-legged Freaks".

I'm still waiting for Food of the Gods to make an appearance on DVD. I've seen the entertainingly trashy sequel, but not the first one.

Prophecy is another favourite mine and has had an excellent R1 release from Paramount.

One film I remember watching on the box regularly as a kid was The Naked Jungle with Charlton Heston,it was about millions of ferocious army ants rampaging through the jungle eating every living thing in their way (including people).

Night of the lepus! The best of them all! Gigant killer-rabbits wreaking havoc among miniatures and some cheesy gore. I want it on dvd!

I love the UK theatrical poster for this movie with the monster embryo.

It's well worth getting The Swarm on DVD as it's the full cut running well over 2 hours! The version Sky Movies used to show was only around 100 mins. long. Empire Of The Ants is another guilty pleasure just don't mention it to Joan Collins! I've also seen The Killer Shrews several times on Sky and it's pretty mad with dogs disguised as the creatures of the title! They done the same thing with the '82 version of The Rats....just Daschunds dressed in rat suits, apparently!
An honourary mention also goes to Phase IV, the enjoyable Bug from '75 and the "They're Creeping Up On You" segment of Creepshow.

Not exactly nature on the rampage but Long Weekend the 1978 film is out September 27th R1.
One of the writers Everett De Roche has writing credits for Razorback.

Okay,I have just checked its mentioned on the Mondo Erotico website as usual.

I have the ABUS version of Slugs and it's certainly entertaining especially in it's uncut form, obviously. What's Juan Piquer Simon up to now, i wonder? The scene in the restaurant is probably the grossest moment for me, though. You'll no doubt know the part i'm on about!
Shaun Hutson's original novel was quite good too, if i remember rightly.

I can still remember seeing Alligator on TV around '85 or '86....it would never happen nowadays, sadly!
A likeable cast, well paced with some good tongue-in-cheek gore! What more could you ask for?

    You said it!
You know what they say....great minds think alike and all that....!

However, i draw the line at the '79 thai abomination, Crocodile! The Intervision pre-cert had a nice cover.... shame about the film. i'm usually a sucker for "so bad it's good" movies, but the above sleep-inducing time-waster is "so bad it's a perfect cure for insomnia!"!
