    Battle Beyond The Stars

Any chance of an AB UK DVD release for Battle Beyond The Stars,a really fun Star Wars rip-off that I have genuine nostalgia for after seeing it at the cinema when it was first released. It had a great cast including George Peppard,John Saxon,Robert Vaughn,& Sybil Danning
Even John Boy Walton (Richard Thomas) wasn't too bad in it,what do yer reckon, any chance?

I have a real soft spot for this movie and feel that Roger Corman really gave it everything he had.

Id be interested in that being released, but talking about Star Wars rip-offs what about a uncut DVD release of "The Humanoid" and a DVD release of "Star Crash".Been looking for ages for an uncut "Humanoid" and I am very tempted to buy a bootleg of e-bay, but would much prefer an uncut VHS or DVD

I also saw The Humanoid at the cinema on a double bill with The 7th Voyage Of Sinbad.

I have the R1 edition, which is OK but non-anamorphic.

A good quality AB UK anamorphic upgrade would be nice.

If you like Sybil Dannings fun-bags then Howling 2 is out on R1 DVD in September

Can't wait to play the end credits again in surround sound (best end credit sequence EVER)

    Re: Battle Beyond The Stars

To resurect this thread,I have been looking round for this film again.
It seems the 2001 R1 release is deleted.
I have come across a German DVD on Amazon.De under the title "Sador Herrscher im Weltraum" 98 mins, looks like a cheapo release about 8 Euros.
Anyone know how this release is quality etc wise.?

Also while looking on IMDB it says there was an uncut release in Finland with a 16 rating as opposed to the PG/12 rating.Don't suppose that has made it onto DVD.

It would be nice if this could get a release again - the US copy has been long out of print.

It would be cool if an anamorphically-enhanced, Dolby Digital copy would come out.

We watched this at the cinema when it was originally released and it still is great fun, even if the budget restrictions are painfully obvious when viewed from a more mature perspective.

Sorry. It's the Doc's fault, someone ban him from image shack.

I have the R1 disc and it's OK picture vise. Fun cheesy flick. Also remember that James Cameron did the FX for the film so for a Corman cheapy they look pretty good, especialy the ship that looks like boobs.

The Humanoid was sooooooo bad. I remember I saw it as a kid and even then the FX were laughable. I have a poster for it though and would definetly buy it if it was released.

Starcrash is available in Italy I think with the english soundtrack and uncut I believe. Nothing like seeing The Hoff strut his stuff and Christopher Plummer ham it up.
Oh damn it! Now I need fake I.D. to rent Ultra Porn.

    Re: Battle Beyond The Stars

Well I have just ordered the German DVD of Battle Beyond the Stars from Amazon Germany.
I think it has a mono English soundtrack so at least it will be watchable.15 Euros altogether with postage.
    Sador Herrscher im Weltaum.
Which translates as Sador Rulers of the Universe,or something like.So I will get it in 2 or 3 weeks?

I nearly bought a R1 of Starcrash but I believe its an appalling VHS grainy effort. Some company that is putting out VHS transfers of 70's films at the moment.

    Re: Battle Beyond The Stars

Perhaps they should issue this as a double bill with Corman's later (completely awful but great fun) kiddie rip-off SPACE RAIDERS, which recycled most of BATTLE's SPFX sequences... well, I'd buy it anyway...

    Re: Battle Beyond The Stars

Got the German DVD from Amazon Germany yesterday.
Sador Herrscher Im Weltraum.Sador Ruler of the Universe.
Nice widescreen, bare bones, with an Advert before the disc boots up of a woman pushing a pram,(no idea.?)
Will do me for now, unless a DVD longer than 99 mins appears.
