    New Dr Who Trailer

For anyone who's interested, the BBC have posted a trailer for the new Dr Who series here. Haven't watched it yet because the work's computers are protected by totalitarian computer types!

    Hey, ditto.

I'm actually quite looking forward to the new series, Piper or no Piper. I mean, they can't do any worse with it than they were doing during the Colin Baker years, can they?

God I hope not! That's when I stopped watching it all together, I vaguely remember seeing a few episodes from The Trail Of A Timelord season. The one with Vervoids in it! Then when Slyvester McCoy took over I was hooked, it was a shame his period ended so abruptly. His Doctor and Ace were a good pairing, the doctor was strange and mysterious again. Like he should be, he is supposed to an alien!

So I'm hoping the new series will be essential viewing!

We might be okay as long as his old arch enemy, Bertie Bassett, refrains from making a new appearance. Bertie Bassett appears and I'm gone!!

Some of those later storylines were awful, especially the one with Bertie Bassett! I also got sick 'n' tired of 'has been' actors turning up, when there was a load of unknown talent out there. I hope they take it more seriously this time. Nothing will ever beat the Jon '007' Pertwee or Tom 'Jellybaby' Baker eras.

Anyway, good to see there are some Whovians on the forum.

I love all Doctor Who up untill the evil Mary Whitehouse came along. When Phillip Hinchcliffe left, thing were never the same again...

funnily enough i've been rewatching some old Peter Davidson episodes and i spotted Barbra Shelley in "planet of fire" and Ingrid Pitt in "Warriors from the deep"

I also saw Michael Ripper in an episode of "to the manor born" but thats another story.

    Unhappy

Does no one else but me think that Christopher Eccleston's costume is dull? A leather reefer jacket and a dark t-shirt! What happened to the long scarves and fedoras? The velvet jackets and frilled shirts?

I think Christopher Eccleston looks like he should be voting BNP or something! Apparently, he's going to surprise us all with his performance which is not meant to be typical of him.

Oh, and I can't wait to see the Daleks again!

They want to bring him up to date of course. Apparently the first episode opens with a shot of the Doctor showing Piper 'what for' across the control console. Hang on, I think that was just my sick dream last night. Anyway, I think they should definitely introduce some sort of sexual element into the proceedings. Just to aid the ratings you understand...

Ingrid Pitt looked terrible in Warriors. Not to mention her duel with the Myrka...

And the Myrka was played by the guys who were Dobbin in Rentaghost! So what does that tell you!

Probably. I play a game that sounds similar but without the same title. I challenge my friends to give me two names that I then link via things they've been in and other actors etc... I pressume its the same thing.

I do occasionaly manage to do it in one go. Some are rather more tenuous!

Same idea. Name any actor or actress and link to the ubiquitous Kevin Bacon in six links or less. Based on Six Degrees of Separation, the theory that any two people, anywhere in the world, can be linked by people they know or are related to in a maximum of six links.
