It's the theatrical cut and is uncensored.

Perhaps you could bide your time and get the ABUS 3 disc release-it's due sometime this year, that's what i'm holding out for.

Defo hold out for set later in the year which should be the ultimate presentation on DVD.

does anyone recall a laserdisc box set with loads of stuff? extras on disc but material goodies aswell? I had a flash of a memory then...

    I have it!

It includes an interview with a buddhist monk, who's a big fan.

My Pioneer LD/DVD combi doesn't work anymore, though.

If I were to buy this today, I'd go for the R1 version.

Here it is for around 8 quid new.

I use DDD all the time. They're slow arriving, but at that price, I don't really care.

The Theatrical Version is substantially shorter than the the Director's Cut. So no, it's not uncut. Like others have said, I'd advise waiting for the SE later in the year.

But the 127 min theatrical version is Romero's preferred cut. The longer 140 minute edit (the Cannes version) wasn't Romero's final edit and was rushed out to meet a Cannes deadline. He has said himself that he considers the theatrical version to be the best version.

ABUS finally has the "In the Future" section of the Coming Attractions back up and running, and listed is the Dawn of the Dead multi-disc set, apparently it is currently supposed to come out in september.

    intervision.

Everyone is comparing This version with that version......I can remember watching the intervision version (it came in a card board box and cut to ribbions) and thinking ...cool.Might dig it out and watch it again just to say 'what the f**k.Its cut'
    How spoilt are we now.

That old Intervision release was on Betamax too. There was "only" about a two minutes missing. The later EIV tape was even more heavily hit... how times have changed.
