    F13 box set

Has anyone read or heard any news of the upcoming (hope so..) Friday the 13th box?
read somewhere that it had been given a release date in Australia in November -04. And that it would be a 4 disc box.
Is it possible to squeeze in 8 films on 4 discs? maybe no extras then..
as long as they are going to be totally uncut at last.
Dont understand Paramount, first they say that they will never release unrated material, My Bloodyvalentine springs to mind, and then they announce the F13 news.

One minute I hear it's going to be a 9 DVD box and then I hear it's going to be a 4 DVD box! One thing I know is that not all the films are going to be released uncut because the cut footage doesn't exist anymore. They've found all the missing footage for one of the films, but I can't remember which one (I think it was Part V).

I'll wait fro a better set if it's 8 on four discs that's Hollywood style, I don't mind paying a pound each for them but if the sets more that £10 I think I'll wait.

Yup - was at the announcement of it in LA and transcribed much of it for Shivers... here's the goss:

It should be 8 discs, unrated version where possible and with director's commentaries where possible. Joseph Zito is definately working with them on Friday 4, but he's not sure (when I spoke with him) if they'll let him re-cut the movie to allow back all the gore. The current UK version of the first is as gory as it gets though.

    No news yet.... )-:

Not much news yet, just searched the net again. The only part that they seemed to have found the unrated material is to part 5 (not counting part 1)ive read somewhere. In my case if part 2,3,4 isnt going to be uncut ill buy them as single discs. They so cheap nowadays.

I'm just making some edits to an article I did on Friday the 13th... I was there for the announcement of the "Special Editions" and this is what was said by Martin Blyth from Paramount.

“We are working on a box set of all eight (Paramount) movies, we’re not just packaging up the older ones and putting them in a new box”, Blyth declared to the excited fans. “We’re going to be shooting interviews and we are considering unrated versions. The challenge is to sort through the mythology and folklore that’s accumulated over the years”. Asking anyone that has any rare footage or memorabilia from the Friday the 13th series to get in touch, via Paramount’s main email address, Blyth goes on to maintain that audio commentary tracks for the films are very likely - although Blyth declines to answer in the positive when questioned about the possibility of a 3-D version of Friday the 13th Part 3.

Maybe one of the challenges is that the box couldn't happy in the US? Given rights issues, I thought it was highly unliely a US release could ever take place, unless the box was incomplete.

I bought the R2 Friday (part 1) over Christmas. I also wanted Part II, but couldn't find the damn thing anywhere. I'm not sure I want all of the Friday films, so will likely end up simply getting he individual discs. Mind you, given that most of them are bare bones, I'd at least like a commentary or something.

I would quite like all the films on DVD but own them all on video... so if there are no special features, as the singles, then I'll be steering clear.

As or Part One, I had heard a lot about the R2 documentary, but was disapointed at it's length (a mere 25 minutes). It does have the commentary, of course, and can be had for 10 quid.
