Anyone heard of a movie with this plot(dinner party/lifeboat game)

I cant be sure I actually saw this movie or someone described it to me --the plot: a rich man invites people for dinner-and suggests they play a game where they pretend they are on a lifeboat and have to choose which people to vote off the vessel for the survival of the rest. Each person has to justify why they are worthy of staying alive. The loser has to leave the room. At the end the rich man and two young people are left-and the rich man excuses himself.
It ends with the two remaining people on a seashore exiting a lifeboat.

I am guessing its a tv movie if its real.

Hmmm. did you ever get the british series Thriller on tv? Sounds vaguely like one of them, but I have been wrong before....cough cough.

It's not a Thriller episode.

I suppose it could be an episode of some tv horror series-but I dont know that there were many being made here during the likely time period--early to late 70s. Doubt it was a Night Gallery.

Maybe I can track it down if I look up remakes of the Most Dangerous Game or 10 Little Indians since it seems related theme-wise.
