    TWO-LANE BLACKTOP

    http://www.danaddington.com/denny/webb.html

Having watched this movie over the Easter Holiday, I was dipping into the online reviews, such as they are, and found a few respectable ones, a photo gallery, some other chaff, but found this review above which I decided to share.

If there are any other fans out there, I would be interested in reading your thoughts.

I have the Universal release, but there is a Criterion print. Anyone have both, or could provide a comparison and a little further insight?

I have the Criterion DVD release, but there is now a Eureka/Masters of Cinema blu-ray, which I'll probably get when the price drops a bit more.
    See DVD Beaver's comparison here.

    Thanks Paul

(I really enjoy watching the Masters' archive grow, it's a fabulous collection)

Il watch ANYTHING with W Oates in it, it's an odd film, very quiet for a film from that period IMO.

What an actor hey Hamish, and... I know what you mean, it's a funny one, but over time I'm getting to enjoy it more and more, watched it, ooooh, 6 times or so over the years, and it grows on you, but not in the way many films do.

Indeed. he's always interesting to watch. Not that he is TLBT's only delight, as a Beach Boys nut, this is my How I Won The War really, though i have a soft spot for the truly awful D Wilson biopic Endless Summer A - HEM. Back to topic....it's a meditative film, one i've always likened to The Driver in tone, funnily enough i don't drive (if yould seen me play Driver, yould be grateful haha)

The roads are pretty crazy these days Hamish, so that's no bad thing if you can do without.

Film wise, I've or ... I ... watch anything and everything, but it's a funny old game, you just bind onto some films, get them, then years later, they can drop out of favour.

Pet Sounds is an album I'm overdue on acquiring, I've bought BB before, but not that particular gem.

Yeah, it's strange, a bit weird even, meditative and suits a certain mood!
