Good thing I watched it just the other week. The image of Phibes at the organ without his makeup is one of my favorite colour pictures in my first horror book A Pictorial History of the Horror Film.

At least his legacy will live on; the two Phibes films are absolute classics in my opinion, real psychadelic horror dripping with dark humour. I had no idea he was the one behind The Devil's Rain and I haven't seen The Final Programme (although I love Moorcock's early writings). Definitely someone who had a true eye for film making/directing.

A sad loss. The Final Programme just has to be seen to be believed seriously. In fact i'm off to watch it again.
