I did a review of this film myself a few years back. An absorbing, atmospheric little movie which I'm looking forward to watching again when the Mondo Macabro DVD drops through the letterbox.

writing from memory, I said in my review that the climactic music comes from Pisano's score for Giulio Questi's ARCANA. I listened to the soundtrack recently and it seems that the entire score for THE GIRL IN 2A comes from ARCANA.

The Prism transfer is bright and colorful, but overbright. Mondo's transfer is definitely superior in terms of brightness and saturation.

Got to say I'm a little let down by the lack of red DVD case. I'm way more let down by the lack of good reviews/general enthusiasm for this one as it's really a shitload of fun. Sure there are some lulls, but you get sadism, mindless violence, a maniac in kool red mask/cape/boots, loopy dubbing, kooky kitsch, completely out of place music, nekkid chicks in bondage, and Rosalba Neri. What more could you want? William "Smut Peddler" Rose, more Italian than the Italians.

So the notes on the DVD mention that The Smut Peddler is boring. I thought, short of the reel that Something Weird found, this was a lost film. Anyone know if there is a complete print/video anywhere? Would love more info on this.

Ha, yes this was a let down for me too, it just didn't sit right with the other Mondo Macabro's....I remedied the error post haste by swapping the case with a Tom & Jerry Christmas DVD I found in the front room. Phew!

I guess I could swap the case from my Zero Woman Red Handcuffs DVD. Let's hope this business is sorted out prior to the next round of Francos.

I haven't actually seen all of this yet - I dozed off midway through and have never got round to finishing it. Can't remember much about it as a result, whether it was actually a really boring film or if I was just very tired that night.
