There doesn't appear to be an anamorphic version of this on DVD. Is it one of those films that gets criminally ignored?

Watch the magic pumpkin!
I was under the impression that th UK dvd from Network was open matte?

I have the letterboxed non anamorphic release from Pathfinder.
Trouble with that one, even though it has a plethora of extras, is that the film will be at the centre of the screen. I suppose it can be stretched to fit, but that's never a good idea.

I never got why this was an Amicus film, Subotsky produced it, but as a far as I remember it doesnt say Amicus anywhere in pre or end titles?
And its 6 years after the earlier Amicus film, the Beast must die.

Still creeps me out in various places, the village, the whistler...(shivers)
I also have the Pathfinder version. It's the correct aspect ratio but it still isn't anamorphic. This classic needs a proper blu-ray release.
I agree that the ghoul bit was the creepiest, which leads me to ask, why aren't more ghoul movies made?
I have the Pathfinder disc too but I embarrassed to say, it's one of those films that I own but have yet to watch.
Im sure you have plenty of those, Comp!I watched it donkey's ago on TV and I'm not sure if it was ever shown again. Would be nice if they released an anamorphic print one day. I'm sure it'll happen.

I do! ...and with a four month-old baby in the house I have even less time to watch films now! The other problem I have is that 99% of my collection of films is boxed-up in my spare room awaiting the conversion of our basement into my office. It's been almost a year since they were out and it's a bit of a drag when I fancy watching something specific. Tend to mainly watch newer films we've rented from LoveFilm and not a lot else at the mo.
christ! a YEAR? and ive been moaning about the fact ive had to box them up for a month, kudos for patience (and obviously having a new addition WILL take up most of your time d'oh etc) ach, look at it this way when you finally get to sit with the feet up and watch uncut sleaze and gore, youll enjoy it even more![]()
Ha! You're right - it's not too bad - I've got a cupboard full of DVDs and Blu-rays on standby and there are the aforementioned LoveFilm Rentals. I do still try and watch one film most days but the days of sitting through something that'r three hours plus are long gone, hence I still have CARLOS and MESRINE sitting in my "to watch" pile!
