Did Arlene Phillips do the choreography for Legs & Co? I know she was behind Hot Gossip.

I can't believe how small the studio looks on Pops, it's like somebody's bedroom or a teenage party around at your mates.

If you have seen the documentary of ToTP they do say it is a very tiny studio, that is why if you look at some of the performances on there the cameras actually barge people out of the way so they can get closer shots of the artists.

Yeah, I recall those shots, and they see it coming don't they, there's that innocent looking up at the camera, yet continuing to dance, half-heartedly, as though they've been drafted in under duress, and then the camera pushes through, and they get excited, a little bit more hip swinging!

I can't say anything about last week's TOTP, as it made me cry, so blinded by tears (and soporific ballads) i merely registered that the collossus that is ABBA are still number one.

Ay-up .... we've got some more of these coming up, flicking through the latest RT.

For a while I thought they were repeating the same 'repeats', but it's the date, not the year (...1977) that's being featured, I gather?

aye, with this current series about The 70s on BBC2, they are muddying the waters a bit at the moment, but they are running through 1977s episodes more or less in order....

I should tape a few of them, as they are easy-viewing. At first I thought I'd already watched them over last few months.

Noel Edmonds is in one of the one's coming up, but I still can't understand how that "Deal or No Deal", takes people in, I suppose if they can win some money, that's the answer. It's a show where nothing happening, a few boxes is turned into an hour or however long it lasts with lots of chat and distractions, genius.

nb- Noticed they actually billed one of the old Play For Today's on Friday eve, "NUTS.... FOR ??" --- a comedy about a chap and his daughter trying to get some peace at an empty camp site, until some git with a radio turns up.... taped half of it, but missed the first 15 mins.

Interesting with the cuts that if PFT is being revived we may yet get to see some other rare airings from the BBC archives from way back when.

Nuts In May. They are actually a couple cough cough. BBC4 has shown a few things at odd times, unlike 3 which is more concerned with drek like Russell Howard/Lee Nelson...of course which is under the hammer? interesting times indeed.....

Nuts in May, ha ha, yes, I only caught 15 mins, Keith this and Keith that.... so wasn't too sure if it was a couple Hamish. I'm still waiting for an oppo to watch it.

But yeah, interesting times indeed. If BBC4 do throw in a few of these unexpected gems that would be nice, even if it is as a direct conseq. of cuts.

They have edited him out of loads of previous episodes (along with Jonathan King) so why now but as the BBC have said “It would be inappropriate for the BBC to rewrite history, so the programme was shown in its entirety.” so go figure!!

Well, well, old Blue Peter, I'll watch that one, I gather there were a few in-jokes that we kids were oblivious to in some of the episodes.

Blue Peter was amazing, several WTF? moments (especially during the re-inactment sequence), eeh it all seems so quaint nowadays etc.
TOTP had the murderer Edmonds presenting, i can only use the word slurry again. of more interest was the doc Tales From Television Centre which i heartily recommmend to folk.

I saw Tales... advertised, but gave it a pass for some reason... oh well.

BLUE PETER was surreal. I didn't know quite what to make of it. The fuss around Shep's birthday seemed to run and run, but it was all very 'in the moment' which was refreshing. The dogs grappling with 'one of Val's old scarves' was very funny, it appeared miraculously as if from nowhere in particular, a logic jump of sorts. Or was I simply distracted.

NUTS IN MAY was wry and bonkers.... in a witty and earnest way.

Indeed, of most interest was the Who stuff personally, but liked it as a whole and will watch again before it disappears....
