The Dundead festival proved so popular that we're continuing a regular double bill horror programme. In July we have The Evil Dead paired up with the remake of Mother's Day...

If you are referring to glitches during The Beyond screening, this situation was out of our control. After ensuring that the correct sepia-toned version of the opening sequence was supplied (and not the black & white version) we tested the first 20 minutes and everything seemed fine, but there was something obviously wrong in later portions of the film. Usually we do a complete run through of each film but we had nine films playing that weekend - and that's not including the DCA's regular programme - and the time was not available. Therefore, a faulty version of the film was supplied and it had nothing to do with the cinema's projection equipment.

Since then we ensure each film arrives ahead of time so we can do full tests beforehand. Please note that it was the first horror festival we put on at the DCA and, while a flawed screening is indeed not acceptable, we are new to this and doing our best to improve with experience and feedback.

i understand all that. if only i hadnt been waiting to see The Beyond for years, maybe i wouldnt be so bothered. it did look lovely (until it started jumping) even if the rest of the crowd were of a different mindset....
