Still can't quite believe the BFI showing a Milligan film, or Nicolas Winding Refn's involvement either Managed to get time off work to go on Thursday, should be good. Seen Body Beneath (the old Something Weird) , liked it a lot, remembered the final shot being pretty affecting. High time I got back into Andy's films..was thinking of doing a documentary of some sort years ago before the Industry my arse stuff came up.

Ah right, I thinking if the same cut print is the one the BFI is using for the Nightbirds DVD, then obviously it is going to be worth keeping hold of the u/c Something Weird DVD of The Body Beneath then.

Given that it also includes Milligan's acclaimed short film Vapors, I would have thought the Something Weird release would be worth holding onto anyway.

True, true, although should any Milligan fan not have the Something Weird DVD of The Body Beneath its worth mentioning that the BFI are releasing Vapors as part of this non-Flipside DVD release:

I always thought this scene was included on the SW because it was transferred from the original answer print and that it was missing from the release version?

That's a possibility. I read recently that World Video Pictures obtained the print from Milligan himself, with said scene already missing, rather than it having been removed by the video company, as I had heretofore assumed.

However, Milligan concocted the trailer, which refers to the missing scene, leading one to suspect that the scene was present in (at least some) theatrical showings.
