Are there really twats reviewing this set on Amazon and giving it a less than the deserved star rating because its street date kept slipping?

I would implore anyone on here that's not already written a brief review and attributed a star rating to do it - on both the limited edition and the standard version that's due to ship when the initial stock of 5000 is depleated. I know Marc will aprpeciate your kind words and support for this release

Another voice to the 'Martin Barker is a hero' call. He should be the knight, not 'Sir' Graham fucking Bright.

Don't diss Graham Bright, he had, after all, the best interests of our children and our dogs at heart.

Oh, and I've just upset one of the people who posted a negative review on Amazon by addressing him in surname only.

Ha!! How sad, i mean really! Ok i've just been bitching to myself because the postman didn't bring me any nice prezzies but thats just the impatient child in me, i'm not gonna start posting negative comments or more importantly: giving low/crap reviews just because somethings taking it's time to get here. Besides which as has already been explained this is sod all to do with Nucleus Films-run up to xmas and DVD factories (for want of a better word) prioritising (spell?) the major studios.

Dear me, as i've said before (and i know i sound old now) i remember sending off a cheque/postal order for £14 for two films on one tape-usually crappy pirates of banned/uncut films-only to then wait for anything upto a month for them to arrive!! Hey, i was happy, it was the only way at the time of seeing these films AND in the bad old days you could've gone to prison for it

As do I, although I don't recall paying more than 12 quid, plus one guy gave his customers a deal on bulk buys. This fellow in particular sent out orders very quickly as well.

Got mine, watched disc one so far..... if I'm being honest I preferred 'Ban the Sadist Videos' as it seemed to have a lot more footage from the period and less talking heads. So Jake Wood's documentary was good but not as good as BTSV IMO.

Horses for courses I guess, I prefer the new doco because of the talking heads - Bright is given a fair shout to express his (bonkers..) views , and yes, the Martin Barker interview is jaw-dropping, very very well done on getting such a powerful interview. Real views of people who lived through it to my mind beat film clips hands down - that's why we have all the trailers.

Also the design of the menus with the 'videos on shelves' is probably the best presentation I've ever seen on a DVD. The whole set should win an industry award if there are still such things..

So cheers to Marc, Jake and co. Dvd of the year by a long chalk.

Is anyone else besides me totally in love with Patricia MacCormack !? Not only did she look amazing but her comments on the films she introduced were fascinating, original, intelligent (without being pretentious), and infused with an infectious love of the genre - I don't think I've ever heard one positive thing said about the Boogeyman sequel but her commentary on the film definitely gave me pause for though. And, I'll probably revisit The Cannibal Man soon enough too...

Its a magnificent set all round, and quite simply DVD of the Year...

I've started checking out the intros and trailers for disc two. They're really cool, eh? Some of the participants are s lot better than others, particularly S. Thrower, K. Newman, X. Mendik and the aforementioned Ms. McCormack. These are more thank just intros, they're mini intellectual reappraisals and are fascinating.

I took 2 days off work sick, and gobbled the entire set up.

    It's pretty bloody good.

    Mine arrived saturday morning.

Watched some of disc 2 and the documentary and the easter egg's...
...well what can i say! I knew it was gonna be a good un but everything i've seen upto yet has blown me away. Brilliant packaging, fantastic menu screens, everything on this is just wonderful.

Martin Barker's last words on the documentary sent shivers up my spine. Hammer Dave: you're right, give this man a knighthood.

Bloody capital effort there Marc and Jake.

Re: the video idents and not a criticism but i could have sworn the Intervision start up music was different

Easily the best DVD of the year hands down and i got my postcards Lim Edition number 2543.
