maybe the new owners just don't like Australians?

I can't find the currency converter on the site. Is it gone? I liked to know how much it was in sterling

Ordered Girly from them and it arrived just before the first round of Volcanic ash.About a week or so after its release date.
So hopefully it will be still a good site.

Not too keen on the less info on the site during the ordering process though.

yeah, xe.com's really useful. I use that one too

so, for those outside the US who've bought stuff from the NEW DVD Pacific, what payment method did you use. thinking of trying to contact them again to see what's going on.
Deep Discount may be cheaper than Amazon but it's still no where near DVD Pacific for range and pricing. as for their customer service, not quite what they used to be, but good service & low costs together are quite rare online these days.

I use a Post Office Mastercard for my purchases in foreign currency, e.g. from Amazon.com, DeepDiscount and Secondspin, because it has no foreign currency handling fee.

Haven't actually bought anything yet from the "new" DVD Pacific, but may go to them for "Night Train to Munich" in June. They are not the cheapest using the current exchange rate - $19.77 + $4.98 shipping = £17.25 approx, which doesn't beat MovieTyme's £15.99 - but perhaps the rate will improve before I need to order!

so I was right, they do have something against Australians

thanks guys, for the quick replies. think I'll have to contact em again. I figure three weeks is long enough for them to check out whatever was going wrong with their checkout process for me

I just made my first order from them since the re-vamp, and wasn't impressed by any means.

    -No foreign currency viewing option
-Seemed to reidrect to another website name, which at first made me wonder if it wasn't legit?
-There seemed to be no account anymore, just an option to enter details everytime.

Is this normal there now? It's not a great way of doing things by any means.

I ordered from their sister Adult site and had to e-mail them when I noticed they'd taken money from my Credit Card account, but not mentioned either in e-mail or on my site account that they'd shipped my bought items.

Anyway, they replied to my e-mail pretty quickly confirming my items had shipped, and that they don't give shipment notifications at the moment.

Is DVD Pacific the same in this respect since it reopened?

Different owners. I've received orders from the new site incarnation with no problems.

It's not a problem. On the contrary, the discs arrived in good time. Was just wondering if the new policy was the same on both sites.

Just picked up Ruby & Dark Night Of The Scarecrow DVD pre orders for under £20 inclusive of delivery. Amazon Price was £33 on there normal delivery & Movietyme was £14.99 for Scarecrow alone, so it seems like a bit of a bargain.

    What's the shipping times like?

I've only placed one order with the new owners, on 9 August this year. It shipped on 10 August, and arrived on 21 August. Nicely packed, too - an oversize, thick cardboard, "wraparound" mailer. Printed customs declaration showed the exact purchase price in dollars and cents ($26.37, excluding shipping cost of $4.98).

Just done an order for the first time on their new site - didn't seem to come out of the checkout screen once I completed the order - didn't want to click "complete order" again and get 2 dvd's!! I've had confirmation e-mails so hopefully it'll be ok... Might send them an e-mail in a few days just to be sure..
