Recently watched THE BRAVE ONE (Dir. Neil Jordan, 2007) with Jodi Foster 'doing a Bronson' on all who dare cross her path. DEATH WISH it ain't, although I would recommend a gawk.

I have the Australian R4 release containing DEATH WISH + DEATH WISH II, cover below:

This is the original DEATH WISH III Italian 4 sheet poster (below). Dubious sources at best report that this illustration depicts Bronson firing III (3) bullets into the inverse-mohicaned skull of Fraker simply for mentioning KINJITE: MESSENGER OF DEATH.

The Italian title translates as 'Justice of the Night 3', though it could easily have been entitled 'Self-destructive Urge 3', as literal as these foreign title interpretations can sometimes be...

I'm really jealous of that poster. Anyone ever notice Bronson always (well 9 out of 10 times) is holding a piece on posters/vhs/dvd covers? Even the publicity shots:

I read in one of his obituaries that someone once tried to mug him. When the would be thief said "gimmie your wallet", a pissed looking Bronson retorted "You give me your wallet!" and the mugger fled. It's probably bull, but I still like it. Obit picture was gun-less.

And what is cut in DW5? No one answered that yet.

Heres another legendary Charles Bronson story taken from Michal winners bio.
just after shooting the stone killer,Bronson asked winner what they were going to do together next.
Winner told Bronson he had a script in the boot of his car about a man who is pushed over the edge after the rape and murder of his wife and goes out on a vigilante spree killing muggers,(Guess what film this became).
Bronson instantly said to he would like to do that.
What,winner asked-you want to make this film.
No,Bronson replied-but Id really like to shoot some muggers.

The company that manufacture the Wildey Magnum, the gun Bronson uses in Death Wish III, apparently once said they would have gone out of business but for the release of that movie. Every time it's on TV in the US, their sales go up

Most of Death Wish III was shot in the UK, especially the action scenes. One of the stuntmen broke his back and sued Michael Winner

Just had a peruse of this thread, and couldn't see an answer, but apologies if it's in here already somewhere. I have access to the Swedish DVD of Death Wish 2. Is this version Uncut? I didn't want to risk getting the dutch edition, as it seems there are a number of versions doing the rounds. My friend says that it is the full version, but has never seen any other edition, so he can't be sure what's missing. any help would be great,

The one screened on ITV the other night was heavily cut although it seemed to have a few shots in it I hadn't seen before. It might have been the R version - wasn't the UK print.

The version ITV screened last Friday following the hilarious Michael Winner's Dining Stars, was indeed very heavily cut as Tim stated.

I posted this before somewhere on here but it still applies.


Try and get the RCA/Columbia video as that is quite unique (abeit still cut ) but has alt footage NOT that does not appear in any other version of the film apart from the UK video, it is absent from recent UK DVD release which was taken from the American R rated version of the film.

The uncut Death Wish 2 I saw is pretty harsh. The daughter stuff I mean (you knew when the maid shows up that something will happen to her but I didnt think the daughter would go through it again--hard to watch).
