Do the BBC offer some kind of storage archive service?
According to the BFI database the film has not been shown on television since 1994. Surely the BBC would have lost the television rights after 5 or 6 years and the masters would have been sent back to the rights holders.
In this case the BBC made their own master. I contacted them and advised them we had licensed the film and they were happy to help.
It has turned up recently on Sky - possibly on the Horror Channel.
