Oh crikey, I need to sell some body parts. Late 2009 is posing big problems for my wallet.

If only I lived in London...

Regarding the upcoming Blu-ray, I'm reluctant to buy again as I still hold some hope that the missing footage John Landis cut out (the killing of the tramps) will be found and included at some stage. The DVD special edition release apparently included everything Universal could find in the vault but that missing footage has to be somewhere, surely? I'd also like the screenplay as an extra, it has the doppelganger sequence in its longer and scarier form. That bed sequence is without doubt the scariest thing I've ever seen filmed but my imagination went into overdrive when picturing how it would have looked if filmed as originally written.

An american werewolf in london blu-ray.new print?

Just ordered AAWIL blu-ray as I think it's a great film which holds up well today.
I remember hearing about the NEW HIGH DEF RESTORATION on the film that was shown at the London Frightfest last year and reading how it looked amazing clarity wise etc.. Now after reading various reviews of the new blu-ray it seems a lot of reviewers comment on how grainy the picture is and only slightly better than the dvd. I was assuming the new blu-ray would be the new remastered version..
Anyone know if the new blu-ray is the ( new remastered print shown at frightfest) or just an upscaling of the old dvd version..?
    thnx

Not sure what print it is but it is a considerable improvement on the DVD - highly recommended!

It's only really the opening scenes that are really grainy. After they get to the Slaughtered Lamb it settles down a bit and is quite nice. Great special features too. Most 80s films are quite grainy anyway, due to the film stock used during that era.

On a side note, does this still come with the cardboard slipcase?
