ach, SF is a "hoot" (no pun intended), just recently acquired his Cemetery Man...a real one off, due to the humorous elements etc, wish id seen it earlier..and i love the Church...for its awfulness...but the more i watch SF the more i like it....

I am fond of STAGEFRIGHT, have watched it many a time - great Italian flick with director Soavi's expert eye and winks to the genre fleshing out the scenes - great score too and accomplished in the way that it has to double as the movie's stage show music and also the atmospherics of the film in general. By the way, the OST was once available on CD entitled DELIRIA (Simon Boswell, Stefano Mainetti, Guido Anelli) - it's OOP, however.

THE CHURCH is another great flick in my book - infact Michele Soavi has yet to disappoint me - the scope of the film, the old/historic mixing with the modern sensibilites/devices, Goblin score, Philip Glass interludes, Asia Argento, the practical effects - all this sits fully within an Italo Goth Gore Modern Horror experience the likes of which are few and far between. Not everyone's cup of tea for sure, but thankfully my blend.

I have the EC release but am eyeing up the AWE - great cover too.

I love Stage Fright, it's a fun slasher / giallo (I always consider it a slasher rather than giallo, but I know some people call it giallo). I have the EC release and don't mind it at all.

My favorite from Soavi is Dellamorte Dellamore, as it's one my top favorites. The Church is another good one, but I can see why people find it boring even though I don't.

I have always considered Stagefright to be a slasher, rather than a giallo.

I liked The Church, found it much better than The Sect which I thought was boring.
