Yesterday I caught the world premiere of Phil Claydon's latest, Lesbian Vampire Killers at the Frightfest one day special event here in London. It's aimed squarely at a teenage audience, but I found it to be quite entertaining nonetheless.
With Gavin & Stacey's James Corden and Mathew Horne and Paul McGann playing the vicar, and some really funny set-pieces this is worth a watch. There are influences and homages to all sorts of other movies in this, from Hammer Horror to The Evil Dead, with a main storyline based on Sheridan Le Fanu's Carmilla. There's a great soundtrack too, I might add.
The make-up and set design are really nicely done too. The screening was followed by a Q&A with Claydon who was joined by nine luscious lovelies up on stage.
Claydon's previous movie Alone showed at Frightfest back in 2002, and it was great to catch up with him again, and we all ended up at a local bar for drinks, with the girls too.
There's room for a sequel too if this one goes down well...
