The Blu-ray player thread

I'm a new blu-ray owner and a former sceptic - the change came due to getting a slightly bigger tv and it's money well spent. On the whole I don't find BluRay that much more cost wise as LoveFilm means I am buying a heck of a lot less films unseen - individually yes the films cost more but to be fair unless you are buying stuff the week it is released it's not really noticeable (and 4 blu rays for £10 from blockbuster was very welcome).

On some films the picture is vastly superior on others it's barely noticeable (same with HD TV shows) but the sound is the real bonus.

Plus if you arent in any hurry wait a few months & most Blu's can be picked up pretty cheaply especially on amazon, i rarely buy anything day & date now unless it is something i really want

Same here, jockfun28 - I usually wait for things to hit the bargain bins before I buy.

I'm having problems with my lg blu ray player.it plays dvds with no problem.but every time i put a blu disc in it says disc error and ejects disc every time.i have used a blu ray lens cleaner doesn't help at all have updated all my settings.i've also used a disc cleaner still no joy and reset to factory setting. any help or advice appreciated))

i can't be of any help i'm afraid zanner .... but out of interest, how long have you had the LG and has it had lots of use? i've got one and wonder how much life there is in them.

Looks nice. I've been thinking of getting a cheap but "branded" all regions BDP for my bedroom - my little Sony S360 is only MR for DVDs.
I'm sticking with Oppos for my main system in the living room!

Are there any dirt cheap blu-ray players that can do multi-region? I've bought a couple of blurays that were region locked, and had to convert them to mp4 files to watch on my iPad... Which is a bit annoying. I don't want to spend a lot (Preferably less than 100 pounds), as I already have two decent branded players. I remember back in the old days, you could pick up cheap DVD players from supermarkets that played all regions.
