Favourite Hammer House of Horror episode

Thought it might be interesting to see which episode of this fondly remembered tv series comes out on top as a favourite among forum members.

Originally screened between September and December 1980, there were 13 episodes. Apart from the odd werewolf, the series veered away from the more traditional monsters and as a result came up with some very entertaining episodes.

I think my favourite is probably Rude Awakening, with Denholm Elliott having some rather disturbing recurring dreams, and maybe Peter Cushing in Silent Scream a close second...although when watching as an impressionable teenager, Suzanne Danielle's performance in the Carpathian Eagle episode was also a firm favourite

Purely from a nostalgic perspective, and mainly for the face at the window bit ,
I'm gonna go with Children of the Full Moon.

house that bled to death is my fave ,the old man with his knife,scary false teeth and the little girls birthday party with the kids getting covered in blood is classic,one of the best tv shows ever its up with twin peaks and dexter

I've got an import VHS of house that bled to death as part of the Elvira Thriller Video series. The opening titles and ending have been removed, so there's nothing to say it;s hammer, but it's quite an unusual and fun way to see the episode.

Silent Scream for me so far, I've been slowly going through the box set on Sunday afternoons with the wife and kids - curtains closed and the lights down low. We've not watched everything yet but so far this is the one that we all like the most.

I agree there.Silent Scream,Guardian Of The Abyss & Children Of The Full Moon are my other favourites but TFOE is the very best episode.

Those are the 4 episodes I remember watching on original broadcast.
I bought the box set on release and its been a while since I watched it all.
I don't know what to vote for as I like them all to some extent.

I would have voted for "Rude Awakening" if the poll had been open for a bit longer... but they're mostly good quality.

I always feel there's a few too many episodes with somebody (temporarily) loosing control of their car on those quiet country roads due to some supernatural presence but I've never made a note of how many episodes this actually happens in.
