Just import it, the US release is region free so you'll have no issues playing it. My missus bought it for me last Christmas & it was the highlight of the season for me. Really nice set which has a version of the film to suit everyone's taste. Worth every penny my missus paid for it & for once a Christmas present I wanted

Has anyone evr thought that Harrision Ford might have actually been a cyborg himself, that would have been the ultimate irony. Thats the way i always imagine the ending anyway, cos i like endings with a bitter twist

there's been some packaging problems reported with the BD 5 disc set, where the 5th disc is missing, and the first is included twice. Best to wait a while before getting it.

That was the ending that Ridley Scott intended from the outset, but he left it deliberately vague.

In one of the documentaries in the box-set, there is a hilarious interview with Frank Darabont who is adamant that Deckard ISN'T a replicant. I hate when an outsider suddenly starts to think that they know the characters better than anyone else.

See this interview and laugh loudly!

I have been thinking about getting the 5-disc Blu-Ray box-set, but seeing as I already have the set in SD, I am probably only going to get the single-disc Blu-Ray.

I watched the final cut on BR last week (the first time I've watched the film in around ten years) and was actually surprised at how clear cut the inference is that Deckard is a replicant. No doubt some of this must be down to the re-editing of the film by Scott, but this new version seems to leave little doubt as to this intention.

The Blu Ray is an absolute treat as well. Watching it again on high definition, it's truly amazing how wonderful it looks given that the film is approaching 30 years old, even with a few bits touched up here and there. When you watch it, you are almost conscious to the fact you are watching a work of art as opposed to a film. The composition of the shots are quite breathtaking. Along with The Duellists and Alien, three of the most visually startling films of that era (especially considering budgets), and it's amazing to think how quickly Scott was absorbed into the mainstream and churning out thrillers by numbers such as Black Rain.

Indeed, that happened with my set. I received duplicates of the Workprint (no Final Cut), and also in the replacement set. The 3rd set thankfully included the correct discs.

Warner's quality control is terrible. I've had more "manufacturing" problems with their releases than I can even recall.

I do kind of see Darabont's point though, in how changing him to a replicant nullifies the subtext in the original cut that replicants are more in touch with their humanity than the humans, and that's what Batty teaches Deckard on the rooftops.

For me the funniest part of the set is Edward James Olmos accidentally calling the replicants Cylons...

Edward James Olmos suffers from what you call BSG.
