    Worst horror movie ever made

Well I have watched alot of rubbish horror movies but I can say that Invasion of the blood farmers Is the worst. The acting Is terrible and the quality and sound It very bad I paid £20 for the limited edition full uncut version which had a very bad picture I would strongly recommend that you stay clear of this film I will put a link to th trailer so you can see how bad It Is.

I've not seen Invasion of the Blood Farmers, but it sounds pretty awful!

My vote would go to either The Lunar Pack, 3 short home movies hosted by Debbie Rochon (what was she thinking?) or The Zombie Chronicles. The Lunar Pack really is appalling, laws should be drawn up to prevent Jason Liquori from ever using film equipment ever again. The Zombie Chronicles is equally bad.

They Planted the Living and Harvested the Dead!

I actually quite like the film. It was directed by Ed Adlum (he worked alongside Ed Kelleher on Michael Findlay's Shriek of the Mutilated).

You've got to remember these are very low budget exploitation (or Grindhouse) movies, so you've got to put your brain into the respective gear when viewing. The whole point of enjoying some these movies is because they are so bad and inept.

Invasion of the Blood Farmers is a fine piece of cheese. Highly recommended and a great double bill with Shriek of the Mutilated. I particularly liked the girls acting when the sheriff asks her how her dead dog is, and the scientists persistent cries of "you won't beliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieve what's happened!"

Okay, seems like I'll reverse my thinking on Invasion of the Blood Farmers, sounds like something I might enjoy!

I hate The Outing (slasher set in a western ghost town featuring Woody Strode) & The Fiend directed by Don Dohler. Both are boring in the extreme IMHO.

I'm not picking a really low budget film,as alot do have entertainment value.

Decoys really annoyed the hell out of me for some reason.
Probably the bad teen acting in it.

Although I am typing this with Sky three on and something called Maneater has just started.TV movie by the looks.

Lycanthrope - this doesn't contain any actual werewolves and instead has a load of nonsense about a holes in the ozone layer causing homicidal madness in a research station "deep in the amazon". This is the only film which was so bad it moved me to comment on the imdb - if only to warn people against watching it.

Well bugger me, where to start? I don't think I've ever seen a worse film than SECRETS OF THE PHANTOM CAVERNS, aka WHAT WAITS BELOW, in any genre- the tragedy is, it wastes a perfectly good cast and an excellent director!! It was the 80s, I suppose, people were desperate for money in this country...

DOMINIQUE is also pretty terrible, I remember sitting watching it with my mate Ian and shouting "COME ON, FOR CHRISTS SAKES, WHEN IS SOMETHING GOING TO HAPPEN?" until we were blue in the fizzog. Even beautiful Jenny and lovely Judy couldn't save that one.

I've little time for BEYOND BEDLAM either, except for the bit where you see Harrow On The Hill and can shout "Oh look, there's my bus" (NB: this only works if you actually lived in Middlesex at some point-Ed)

When it comes to grindhouse trash, though, I have to admit that I don't even try to judge it by the standards of a great film- if you stick a Roberta Findlay movie on, you're hardly expecting KWAIDAN, are you? If the answer is yes, see a doctor. I don't want to get into the realms of "so bad it's good" ironicism, as that seems to be the preserve of pretentious lazy journalists who wouldn't know the difference between Jack Cardiff and Jane Cardew, but sometimes there's nothing more preferable than having a good laugh at a truly trashy film.

However, for all my love of trash, I seem to have annoyed half my mates at one point or other with my constant assertion that Ed Wood was not a low budget genius, but just a terrible filmmaker. I guess you can't agree with everything. I've got Peter Collinson films I think are masterpieces which friends of mine can't abide. But at least they don't have Keith ****ing Allen in them.....

Re: Worst horror movie ever made

I've just thought of some more......

ENTITY FORCE (aka ONE DARK NIGHT)- a film with practically no plot or aesthetic value of any kind.

AEROBICIDE (aka KILLER WORKOUT)- as silly as the title suggests, but sadly at no point featuring anyone aerobicising themselves to death. That could have redeemed it.

NIGHTMARE WEEKEND- although it has to be said, you haven't lived until you've experienced this utter nonsense for yourself. Its existence simply buggers belief. Yes, you read that correctly.

And how about ALIEN TERMINATOR (aka TOP LINE)? Franco Nero's lowest moment, and a film featuring very little about either an alien or a terminator, but plenty of extremely tedious bossanova music. Not that bossanova is tedious by definition- I'm a huge Sergio Mendes and Gal Costa fan, but whoever is responsible for the atrocities featured on this soundtrack needs their fingers broken.

I can't stand anything that attempts to ascribe ludicrous Merchant Ivory pretensions to Gothic horror either- Coppola's BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA and the interminable Kenneth Branagh's abomination MARY SHELLEY'S FRANKENSTEIN being the principal culprits here. Like we're supposed to award them extra brownie points for knowing the names of the ****ing authors!!!

Then there's the work of Richard Driscoll, the man responsible for THE COMIC (the only film ever to be literally booed offscreen at the Scala Splatterfest), KANNIBAL, and several others. As has been exclusively documented elsewhere (mainly on the BHF and Mike Simpson's site) the guy is so inept one wonders if he's actually stumbled upon some weird guerilla auteur theory the rest of us aren't privy to. Either way, he practically deserves a thread of his own, but I'm not going to start it now. Apart from anything else, I'm just about to watch a good film....Jose Ramon Larraz' SYMPTOMS.

Seriously? I love this film - its always been one of my guilty pleasures...

Anyway, I dont honestly know what I'd put forward as the worst horror film ever made. I hate Sleepaway Camp with a passion, and always have, so on a personal level, that might get my vote, but is it the WORST horror movie ever made? No.

A few I would put forward are Slash Dance, which sounds a little similar to the aforementioned Aerobicide and looks like a college movie shot for kicks by film students. Santa Claws is just awful and I cant bring myself to discuss it any further without needing a shower. Blood Hook is one I always remember for being bad - a bunch of people are killed at a fishing festival (!) with a big fishing hook. And finally, The Majorettes, which is an insult to slasher films the world over. I remember reading an impressive article about this film in Fangoria back in the 80s, complete with some suitably bloody screen shots. It took me the best part of 20 years to finally track it down, so you can imagine my disappointment when, after all that time, it turned out to be bobbins of the highest order.

Well, you've got to have something to do if you live in Torshavn, I suppose

I haven't seen any of the abovementioned, but they all sound pretty dreadful. That said, when a film is listed as bad beyond belief, I feel I have to see it, purely to see if it can be as bad as everyone else thinks it is!!

SLASHDANCE can't be as bad as Fulci's MURDER ROCK DANCING DEATH, surely. Mind you, I let Lucio off that one because it has a Keith Emerson soundtrack and a hilarious title.

    Some more spring to mind:

Firstly, THE BUTCHER, aka PSYCHO FROM TEXAS Christ, it's DULLLL!! And my version has the only good bit (ie the striptease) edited out, but I don't think that it would automatically make it a better film somehow.

Secondly, MESA OF LOST WOMEN. Shoot that bloody guitarist!!!

And how about SLAUGHTER HIGH? What were they thinking? Did anyone honestly belive we would think this was a geuine American slasher flick, and even if we did, couldn't some people who could ACT have been involved? Apart from lovely Caroline, of course.

I think Slaughter High is one of the best horror films ever made actually. It's so much fun. I think Aerobicide is fun too .
