BCE was a good program although a full episode could've been devoted to the infamous Rendlesham forest incident which i personally believe was a totally true event.
Nice to see the intruiging Alan Godfrey case get some coverage and there's been some superb UFO themed documentaries screened on various satellite TV channels over the years which are definitely worth a look on any potential repeat broadcasts.
I've always been a supporter of the existence of an extraterrestrial presence both in our skies and on our land. I don't believe everything i see, read or hear and i'm always willing to accept a conventional explanation if i think it's viable and relevant.
However, based on the interviews i've seen and the books i've read i have no personal doubt that something is out there and the powers that be do know more than the rest of us. I'm convinced of that.
Please feel free to laugh and call me crazy but each to their own opinion and i'm keeping mine.![]()
I agree with pretty much everything you've just said strozek. We need more level headed views like that. Good man.
Yes Black, "level headed".
I like to think where such paranormal phenomena is concerned there are both extreme believers and extreme sceptics.
The former will believe everything related to various unconventional subjects such as UFOs amongst others regardless of how genuine the proof is otherwise. Whereas the latter will never believe no matter how convincing and tangible the evidence is that is put before them.
It's important not to have one of the above attitudes.
Believe or disbelieve within the limits of your own intelligence and acceptance.
You may find that all the most highly respected ufologists are intelligent, articulate, well educated and have credible contacts on the phenomenon. They're most certainly not missing a screw or two and have a very impressive knowledge of the UFO subject.
Fair enough, you'll always get an oddball who brings the subject down to a certain ridiculed level but that's only to be expected when dealing with such a controversial subject. But to consider all UFO supporters to be foolish and gullible is an insult imo.
Remember, it only takes one UFO case to be proven completely authentic for the situation to be validated.![]()
Cor, this is a big subject! Personally, I think you'd have to be extremely myopic not to believe in extraterrestrial life out there. A portion of those are bound to have technology far beyond our own. So, yes, I believe we get visited by alien life, but I'm wary of most of these so called sightings. There is the other fact that the military are always developing new top secret technology that we only find out about 20 or 30 years later, if at all. I have to draw the line at human/alien technology, though.
I think strozek is right about the powers that be knowing more than we do, though. What if they did receive a signal from space? Could they really share that information with the general public? I think heavily religious people would have a very hard time accepting it.
Oh, and to answer Marc's question, I've never seen a UFO. But, ghosts, well, that's a different matter entirely...
Watch the magic pumpkin!
Whether or not we've been visited is one thing, but I find it very hard to believe that ours is the only planet in the entire Universe with any form of life on it...if it is, then its a sad outlook that man is as intelligent as it gets....how did that song go again?
...And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space,
'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth.
Where the UFO subject is concerned, you will find that all dedicated ufologists will always look for a rational explanation first before accepting the element of the unknown.
All scientific disciplines and possible conventional causes are initially applied and when none of these seem as likely explanations then, and only then will a case be filed under the 'unexplained' heading. Because there simply is no further rational evidence to go on and all avenues of examination have been exhausted.
Legit past research has always provided an straightforward reason (hoaxes, hallucinations, misidentification etc.) for around 80% of reported sightings. But there has been that hardcore 20% that defies earthly explanation and it's these cases that are of interest to believers.
I like to think that the craft that people are witnessing performing incredible aerial movements are either super-secret man-made vehicles utilising revolutionary propulsion technology unavailable to the general public. Or some other intelligence is piloting these craft and they're most likely not from around here! Perhaps from another planet, dimension or even another time period. We may never know.
In a nutshell, if it's not one of ours then it pretty much must be one of theirs!![]()
