Outpost - entertaining and watchable, if unremarkable, nazi zombie movie. Notable for being probably the least colourful movie shot in colour I've ever seen. A sequel is on the way, apparently.

Cold Prey 2 - liked the original, this is more of the same. Recommended.

Twilight - Oh, good lord, no. I watched this for the sake of the quiet life with the other half. So terrible that it made my eyes bleed and hurt my soul.

The Warning aka Without Warning - enjoyably silly alien movie with a top cast. Shame the pq on the tape was crap

X-Men Origins: Wolverine - whilst I don't think that the leaking of a screener will really help the box office I'd say that the biggest problem is that apart from the opening credits this is just plain boring.

recently saw the deep for the first time. brilliant film with a really good transfer. no extras though. loved the scene near the end when someone got there head bitten buy a giant moray eel. classic!

i love water based thriller/horrors and this is up there with the best.

highly recommended, esp for the cheap price.

just noticed this is coming out on US blu ray, if its region free ill consider an upgrade on this one.

    great stuff!

Cold Prey Resurrection: Good sequel to Cold Prey, very much in the style of Halloween 2, set in a hospital and has some good scares, well shot and it directly follows on from the first film, kills are good and dvd comes as a double with the first film, recommended and its under a tenner at Asdas.

Well I spent yesterday evening watching the dire Fred Olen Ray horror flick Scalps.

I'll be posting a full, detailed review tomorrow so for now let's just say that it was eighty minutes of my life that I'll never get back and leave it at that...

The Phantom Creeps - condensed version of the 12 part Bela Lugosi serial, so moves at an insane pace, snarling robots, invisibility belts, exploding spiders on strings. Great.

Evil of Dracula - third in the Toho 'dracula' trilogy. The r2 dvd is terrible quality picture-wise, but it's widescreen and original language, and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. Japanese schoolgirls being menaced by a vampire. Cool. One decent throat slicing as well.

I've decided to make a start on Season One of the original Twilight Zone. So far I've watched the first 5 episodes and I'm having a great time, this is TV gold and to be honest I've not watched this TV series since I was a kid so I'm in heaven right now.

That's another box set in my shopping cart. I can't wait to revisit these.

I bought the complete boxset on region one in the summer of 2005 for about £120 and I've only managed to find the time to watch the first three discs of season one so far. If I carry on at the same speed, I'll have seen them all by 2046.

Re: Last Film You Watched + Your Comments?

Well I tell you what, this is turning out to be the best £18 I've ever spent. I started it late last night and at the time of writing I'm through 12 episodes and have just finished disc two.

There have been some not so good ones like Sixteen Millimeter Shrine, Judgment Night and worst of all Time Enough At Last but those aside the episodes have thus far ranged from good (Where Is Everybody?, Mr. Denton On Doomsday, Walking Distance, The Lonely, And When The Sky Was Opened) to excellent (Escape Clause, Perchance To Dream (very Carnival Of Souls-like IMO), What You Need).

The best one has been One For The Angels, I thought that one was absolutely wonderful.

Anyway, I'm taking a break and shall continue after the Manchester derby tomorrow afternoon.

Got around to Return to Sleepaway Camp after debating if to or not.
Taken with a big pinch of Salt,it wasn't bad.
    Bad acting,preditcable outcome.Still liked it.
Would probably benefit if it was more than an R rating, more graphic and some random irrelevant female nudity.
It seemed abit cautious, trying to be like an homage to 80's slashers but too much like a recent teen horror.

Re: Last Film You Watched + Your Comments?

Earlier on I spent this rather rainy Wednesday afternoon watching Aerobicide. Not much good as a slasher film to say the least, but still a laugh riot and a half. I thought my sides were literally going to split at one point. A trashy gem.

A proper review will be up tomorrow...

So what has everyone else been watching lately?

You being serious? This is arguably the greatest ever episode of The Twilight Zone. Burgess Meredith is great in it. From henpecked and harassed to free, bewildered and jubilant. Great journey with some characters I'd love to put in a vice and squeeze the life out of. Not poor ol' Henry Bemis though. What a nasty twist this one has. Brilliant series. I finished S1 a few months back and should start up with S2 as I have all of the original sets as well as the 80's and Whitaker ones. I agree with you on the other 2, although Patrick Macnee is in Judgement Night so bonus points for that.

Out of the ones you enjoy, the Capra'esque One For The Angels is right up there as far as season 1 highlights go. The old bloke who keeps trying to put death off is charming and his final pitch is excellent. The Lonely is a classic and I love the chilling premise to this one. Depressing it is too, although nowhere near as downbeat as Time Enough At Last. Perchance To Dream is a head scratcher and one of those clever ones where you don't know where it's leading.

Special mention to upcoming episodes you've yet to see like the paranoid pair The Hitch-Hiker and Monsters Are Due On Maple Street. I like those with good twist endings and I Shot An Arrow Into The Air and People Are Alike All Over raise a twisted chuckle or two. As for The Fever it not only has some great characters, but also one of the most bonkers of plots too.

    Enjoy!

    The Manster.

This one is fun, but it's not as much fun as I'd been hoping.

Nope, I couldn't get into Time Enough At Last I'm afraid. I've been meaning to start disc 3 but things keep getting in the way. I'll see about making a start tonight actually.

Return of the Living Dead Part II
-I've always liked this film, despite it's general unpopularity, but the god awful music on the DVD really does ruin it. I'll have to rebuild a new copy of this with the audio from my old VHS.

I liked ROTLD pt2, its nowhere near as bad as its made out to be.

I watched Razor Blade Smile the other day; it was great fun although the ending annoyed me a little.
