It was on BBC1 initially in 2001, although BBC Scotland, unfortunately for myself as I'd wanted to see it for ages, decided to opt out of this showing. I wasn't expecting last night's showing to be uncut either to be honest.

Simply Movies are showing the Herman Cohen British horror Berserk! at 11.45 tonight.

Caught the end of a god awful ‘I Love the 70s’ type clipshow on Sky3 last night called Shameful Secrets of the 70s. In the film and tv segment of the show, shameful secret No.2 was that many 70s british sex comedies had been also shot in hardcore versions, don’t get too exited though they just illustrated this point with some very tame clips from Come Play With Me and The Playbirds. Anouska Hempel’s role in Blacksnake also made the same list as Shameful Secret No.4, (no reference made to Tiffany Jones though, presumably as she bought the rights to that one in order to suppress it).

Its repeated this Thursday at 22:00 if anyone is interested.

That probably explains why Channel 5 only showed it once (complete with their cheeky chappie announcer talking over the end credits), thankfully I kept it on tape.

Thanks for the heads up Gav. We won't be seeing Tiffany Jones on DVD any time soon then? Derann issued it in the early 80s on tape and it was later released on the Video Masterpiece (Stablecane?) label with an 18 and an almost identical cover. Also in the late 90s by Salvation

BBC2 are showing Dr Terror's House Of Horrors again early Sunday morning (1.35am). For anyone who only has the Anchor Bay version, a chance to bag the complete film with original title sequence

The Paranormal Channel on UK Sky Digital (Channel 201) is going to be showing the video nasty The Mountain of the Cannibal God (aka Prisoner of the Cannibal God) in the next week!

It will be shown on Saturday 13th June at 10pm, and then repeated several times throughout the rest of the month.

The Sky Electronic Programme Guide has this listed under the title Slave of the Cannibal God. That would suggest it is the cut US version missing an explicit castration scene, the theatrical version, so it misses out the "orgy" scene that was included in the extended versions released by Anchor Bay and Blue Underground.

However, all the scenes cut by the BBFC are intact, including the animal violence.

Other hopefully uncut features showing in June, include:

    - DEMONS
    - DEMONS 2
    - THE CORPSE-GRINDERS
    - THE SATANIC RITES OF DRACULA
    - ASYLUM (1972 Roy Ward Baker version)
    - NIGHT TRAIN TO TERROR

No doubt most will have the uncut versions but for those who do not it might be worth checking out.

The BBC showing I saw was even missing some material which was present in the original version, as cut (heavily) by the BBFC for an 'X' certificate. I'm thinking of the flashback with the witch.

Satans Slave's BBC showing does have it's plus points though, the BBC do show an alternate angle of the attempted rape which is not shown on the BBFC print (taken from the continental version no doubt ) only lasts about 4/5 seconds with the guy sitting on the bed.

Yes, he starts to fondle the girl as well. This scene is indeed different to that in the uncut UK version available on dvd. Unfortunately the BBFC wouldn't allow Anchor Bay to include this stronger take of the scene on the dvd as an extra.

Fullscreen sadly, but it's obvious why the BBFC still found the continental version of the bedroom scene problematic.

ITV4 is showing Botched tonight at 10pm -the British/Irish co-production from a couple of years ago with Stephen Dorff and Sean Pertwee which sounds as though it could be fun. It's a heist-gone-wrong/serial killer/comedy.
