    New Forum Members

I've just approved another seven members - please keep spreading the word about the forum chaps!

I still have a fair amount of work on, but once I have some free time I'll do a bulk mail out advising all the old members which will include mainly those that I'm sure aren't even aware that the forums have closed and re-opened here, bigger and better.

BTW - former AB forum members DO NOT need to re-register. We do not want anybody here with more than one username.

Argh, same here. Why sign up just to lurk, I mean really, what is the point?

Yeh, come on guys just butt in with your thoughts. It does take a lot of courage up for some of us to do that first post, it did for me, but I have always been made to feel welcome.

Well what you have to bare in mind Cloud is that generally speaking most internet film forums tend to be more stuffy and far more clique orientated than this one. Ours (as a rule) is neither of those things hence why it is the best around.

However, when a newbie sees an informed exchange going on between a group of members who all have 1000+ posts to their credit it can be a bit daunting for them to pipe in. Sadly there are certain forums around where established members actively leap upon and try to undermine newcomers, which is of course something that would never be tolerated here.

However, this certainly isn't like other forums in that regard and the aforementioned "lurkers" should certainly join in if they have something to add.

    The more the merrier!

I can remove the post count, but in order to do so I'd need to hack the forum templates and physically remove the code that displays it..

Well my views on post counts are well known, I don't think they really add anything of value. However, they ultimately do no harm as long as they are not worn as a mark of superiority.

    Re: New Forum Members

I'm really not sure why this post count thing keeps coming up. If Marc is doing some hacking, then I want SPOILER tag first.

The way to look at post counts is: If that idiot can post that much, I can too!

To anyone lurking, come on down! I actually know some of the people who recently signed up - The Chaoster, Ryan, Nems etc. All good people through and through, and none shrinking violets.

Reading a forum and getting information is fun - but participating really takes it to the next level and is to be recommended. Personally speaking I really enjoy reading other peoples views - so don't be shy!

Well, we never try to undermine new people. Anyone who's joined lately should feel free to post something and not be intimidated because some of us have been here a while. There's always something new to learn.
