    Re: What's Your Latest Buy?

I just got one new and sealed from the Amazon Marketplace for £8.95 plus £1.24 postage.

Some ebay sellers in the states still have them at $9.99 - $11.99

Dont be fooled by these UK ebay rip-off artists who are charging £30-£50 for these Midnite Movies double bills claiming them to be OOP and rare - if you dig around online you can pick virtually all of them up for under a tenner, some a lot less.

    Re: What's Your Latest Buy?

My most recent purchases have included:

Chiller R2 – excellent Wes Craven TV movie let down by a poor DVD
Frankenstein Conquers The World/Frankenstein VS Baragon R1 – can’t go wrong with this
Girl Boss Revenge R1 – the first DVD I have had stolen/lost in the post for many years, I hope the replacement copy makes it to my door OK
Fist Of Legend R1SE – can finally retire my VHS copy now this masterpiece has a decent DVD
Above The Law R1SE –one of Corey Yuen’s best, it’s a pleasure to see Yuen Biao and Cynthia Rothrock in action.
Original Gangstas R1 – not Larry Cohen’s best but I want to see it again
Special Effects R1 – more Larry Cohen, never seen this uncut before
Perfect Strangers R1 – still more Larry Cohen, replacing my Blind Alley VHS
Cash On Delivery R3 – another film where Simon Yam plays a gigolo
Naked R2 – just in case I need cheering up

    Re: What's Your Latest Buy?

Savage Streets - beautifully packaged, can’t wait to see it
Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers - more Linnea Quigley
Fist Of Legend (R1 2 disc ultimate edition) - finally dropped through the letterbox, one of Jet Li’s best, sadly not as definitive an edition as it should have been. Quite frankly the Weinsteins shouldn't be allowed to licence Asian films. The crappy-looking English credits have been retained from the abominable Dimension version (Bey "sellout" Logan of course makes no mention of this in his commentary) meaning that the film doesn't start or end properly, but at least it has the original Japanese/Chinese audio. Good extras though.

    I’ve also ordered

Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat and Dead Heat

    Re: Savage Streets

I have to give BCI their due on this one, the artwork on the slipcover is different to the art on the sleeve (why more companies don’t do this I don’t know), there’s a nice insert with some poster reproductions, it looks damn good.

Not sure why it’s a 2 disc set given that the only stand-alone extras are trailers and interviews, I doubt the three commentaries take up that much space and there’s no indication of any DTS or 5.1 tracks.

Anyways it’s the movie that matters, I missed it on VHS so am looking forward to finally seeing it, it’s the kind of film I know I’m going to enjoy…

UPDATE: Watched it last night, its been beautifully remastered, BCI have done a damn good job.

Talking Re: What's Your Latest Buy?

Yeah, I watched For Your Height Only the other night and it certainly has some classic dialogue:
    'Ow my little head!'
    'Shall we get it on?'
'I declare war on that little stinker!'
'It's not the size it's how you use it!'

The 'tragic' ending is hilarious too.

    Something of a camp classic.

    Recent purchase: Savage Streets.
