Not bad, Marc. So how much did you drop on that? I see they reckon it retails at 5k. Shame it's a DLP, but the specs sure look decent.

It's one of the best HD projectors on the market at that price point. At that price you don't see any rainbows.

I only ordered it an hour ago - I was weak and suffered a momentary lapse of reason.

Sounds good. I know there are DLP's with no rainbows, they've done away with the wheel. I loved DLP's, but the rainbow is the thing. If that's gone, then it's perfect.

I've had lapses of reason, but they never cost me £5k!!

So, with it being full HD capable, I assume you'll be getting some other HD hardware..? Blu-Ray? HD DVD? Both?

I was thinking the same thing.

There's no going back once you get a projector, imo. So I'm sure this'll be a great buy. My lamp is currently at 1300 hours, but seems to be going strong. I saw a projector I wouldn't the other day, a Panasonic. You can get that for under 900 quid at the moment, which is a real bargain. 2000 ANSI Lumen, 720p, and LCD. That's tempting. But then I remembered I was happy with what I have.

You know, when you get into something you just want more more more.

Well done that man - a great projector. The 'controller' (Scaler/VP) is supposed to be very good.

Hope you auditioned it for rainbows.

I have the OPTOMA HD73 - a sort of 720p version, and the image is jaw-dropping.

You'll be able to watch all your ABUK Blu-ray discs in high definition now.

Are we going to be buying a HD source to feed it or are you still sitting it out?
Gonna be bl**dy hard to resist the temptation of Blu-ray/HD-DVD with a bit of kit like that!
Must be earning a bit of spare cash from your Pre certs Marc

1080P upscaling from SD for the moment.

Still waiting for that new Samsung BD-UP5000 - Dual Format 1080P BluRay & HD DVD Player.

But most likely for now I'll go for the Toshiba HD-EP30. I really can't see me wanting to be stuck with Region B for the Blu-ray titles.

Great HD player the Toshiba HD-EP30 & alway nice to have 7 free discs to get you going!
The Samsung BD-P1400 is an excellent Blu-ray player, I picked it up from Empire direct for £270 with a 10% off voucher! Well worth checking out.

The new Sammy does look tempting, but I gave up on the wait!

Marc, pardon me if I'm speaking out of turn...

But how about telling 'the man' at Starz that you need BD players of both regions now that Starz are releasing BDs.

And if they don't they can kiss your fat hairy ****.

Not that your **** is fat or hairy, I'm sure. It's just a saying.

I'm not sure how you can get them to buy you a HD DVD player - I'll work on that one.

This looks pretty good for the price - as a stopgap before going fully HD of course.
