Have you gone to another country just to buy films?

Iv`e done it twice, once to Germany since its just a 5 hour drive from where I live. Another time I was bored and went to London just to get some dvds. Its so cheap with Ryanair. I think I payed around 25 pounds for the ticket return.

Is this crazy? i dont know myself

You must have some car to get from Sydney to Germany in 5 hours!!

More seriously, I've never travelled just to get dvds, but I make a point of finding a decent dvd shop in every country I go to.

No, but it sounds like a really good idea.

I don't do it so much nowadays, I live in Portugal, Algarve and I used to go a lot to Seville, Spain (2h drive) and Lisbon (3h drive) with the sole intent of buying records and dvds, so you are not alone, eheh.
Many great things can be found that way, not only in the www, but in the end it's more expensive.

I would say, just offhand, if you have traveled into other countries JUST to buy DVDs....then, you are pretty serious about movie collecting!

I've never been abroad to buy DVD's,I have been abroad however to buy video's.Back in my VHS collecting days,I travelled to Amsterdam to visit Cult Video and a few other video retail outlets to pick up some uncut original tapes. The only downside to picking up Dutch tapes was the fact they all had bloody great subtitles obscuring half the screen.

    Hi

    Long time, no see!

I'm off to Barcelona on holiday in a couple of weeks. Any suggestions for shops selling cult movie DVDs? Went to Barcelona last year - wonderful place - but didn't find any DVD retailers really. Some very cool record shops though.

In the bad old days before DVD/the internet, I used to regularly travel to the Netherlands to escape British censorship. And I know I wasn't the only one.
