Fluff's appearence in Dr Terror's House of Horror's is memorable, but his Young Ones cameos were hilarious...

Will he be sadly missed? Not 'arf

    Re: Fluff R.I.P.

Along with the late Tommy Vance, Fluff wasn't scared of actually promoting heavy rock/metal. It's a shame we'll never have the likes of him again.

    RIP, mate!

    Farewell, pop pickers!

I spent many a happy hour listening to Fluff's rock show on the radio in the late 70s.

Just out of interest, does anyone know how he got the part with Dr.Terror's House of Horrors?

    I don't want to be depressing,and I didn't want to start a new thread.
Just noticed Magnus Magnusson has started and finished.Age 77.

Maybe I should rename the thread snuffed instead of fluff.

Lest we forget Charlie Drake, James Brown and Saddam Hussein - three other entertainers who'd ceased to be entertaining on this plateau but died recently, and may be fondly remembered for a week or so.

    Re: Obituary Thread

I was going to say I couldn't see anything on Ceefax (watching Question Time). Nothing on page 501. But I've just looked on page 101 and yes there's a headline about her dying, on page 124 at the moment. I'm gobsmacked. Because it's such a young age and I hadn't read anything in the years since I first heard about her, that she had been ill. Just reading the story on Ceefax now. I'm shocked.

I heard about A.N.Smiths troubles, and its not overly unexpected she came to sad end.Still a surprising when someone dies at a youngish age.

Another to add to the list.Ian Richardson star of House of cards.72 ish I think.

    Re: Obituary Thread

Heard that on the news this morning. I thought he was the best/only funny character on Are You Being Served.
And I have to say, he seemed ageless. I've seen him on various shows since then and I don't think he ever showed his age. RIP

I am not a fan of AYBS, but I am of John Inman. Real shame, he was a funny man. RIP.

    Re: Obituary Thread

I like AYBS,but on watching the first 6 series again,it was only very funny half the time.
John Inman did seem ageless, probably because I have only seen him with grey hair.

I'm totally gutted, mate. What a bummer, ruined my day. Gee. I get home from being out all day, just to find this. If I had some beer here, I'd drown my sorrows.

    Re: Obituary Thread

Damn, these always come in three's.

    Comic hero Captain America dies

Superhero Captain America has been killed off after appearing in US comic books for 66 years.

The character, who appears in the Captain America comic book, was created in 1941 to build up patriotic feeling during World War II.

Co-creator Joe Simon told the New York Daily News: "It's a hell of a time for him to go, We really need him now."

Publisher Marvel Entertainment has confirmed it is developing a film based on the character.

Fans may not have seen the last of the character in print either, as the comic's editor-in-chief, Joe Quesada, refuses to rule out resurrecting him in the future.

The latest edition will show the superhero dying on the steps of a courthouse in New York, after he was shot by a sniper.

Captain America first appeared nine months before the Pearl Harbor bombings, punching Hitler on the cover of the comic's first issue.

Since then, Marvel has sold more than 200 million copies of Captain America magazine in 75 countries.
    What's next - Spiderman?!?!?!?!
