Just watching this absolutely brilliant HK manga-inspired movie for the second time & noticed something weird. On the back of the R3 'Universe' DVD cover, there's a picture of the woman who loses her husband snipping off her finger-ends with a pair of scissors which isn't in the movie. Has the film been cut?

I tried looking at the IMDB, but (as usual), it's sh*te...

P.S. If you haven't seen this one yet, SEE IT! It's great stuff. Atmospheric, really well made & it has it's gory momets.

Uzumaki is out on R2 March 24th but you can still pick it up for around £6 inc postage from DDDhouse, well worth your money however much you spend on it.. really cool movie.

I have the R3 disc of this - and I've yet to watch it! Shame on me..

Love the write-up too...a strange whirlpool with girl with whirlpool-like hair...

Has something been lost in the translation, I wonder?

out of the many asian movies I have bought and seen in the last three years, I would say that Uzumaki is one of the very best(alongside imho, for what it's worth, Kairo(Pulse) and Dark Water). It's a very different unusual movie that improves with repeat viewings, is really difficult to describe(always a good thing!) and now out over here in r2 version. It's well worth viewing and is best seen knowing as little as possible about it
