Will this be released uncut?
The Streetfighter (DVD) (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006M4S3W/mondoerotico05)
Edit: The sequels are getting a release as well.:) Been hoping for a pristine release of them. I'm just hoping there going to be uncut.

Awesome! Is this R2?
The running time is 87 min. I presume it's more or less uncut since the R-rated cut was around 75 min.
The violence should get through easily. I guess it depends on whether the film has sexualised violence or animal cruelty

Yeah it's region 2 (or maybe region 0) I hope in these enlightened times it get's throu uncut. I believe Optimum have the rights so it could be a good disc. There's a bit where someone gets there nuts ripped off but it's comic book violence so should get throu unscathed, fingers crossed. I've checked the BBFC website, no news yet.

Although, as previously mentioned on this thread, the violence is indeed so over-the-top that it reaches the melodramatic madness of a Tex Avery cartoon, there is however, a rather vicious rape sequence (if my memory serves me correctly).
Still, you never know, in these enlightened times maybe the BBFC will pass it uncut.

Hard to believe but obscure satellite channel Get Lucky TV actually broadcast the first Street Fighter film- in wide screen and uncut- a few weeks ago. It was on at about 8 o clock in the morning!
I've seen this going for £12.99 on Play.com,and was wondering whether this boxset is worth picking up.I've never seen any of the films, but I do know they're supposed to be quite violent & bloody.Whats your verdict, guys!

For £12.99. Well worth picking up. Very entertaining films. The first film is great fun. They sequels are less gory, but still good. I'd recommend them.

Too right it's worth picking up, at that price it's a steal. The films look better than any other releases, and they're uncut.
They are quite violent but nothing too bad. They're basicaly martial arts (karate) movies with a bit more violence. Definitely worth the asking price. If you like the odd Bruce Lee film I think you'll enjoy them, if you don't like martial arts films then don't bother. The Streetfighter films are unlike many of the Hong Kong kung fu films because there's no comedy in them. I prefer it that way. Japanese martial arts films were always a bit harder. Thou obviously not as skillful as the likes of Bruce Lee or Yuen Biao, Sonny Chiba is very charismatic, and the films are great fun.
The first film is the best of the bunch IMO.

I'm still surprised that the original got an X in the States. Yes, it's very gory but so were many of its contempoaries - The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Deranged - and they got rated R. Still, it feels cool having something on my shelf that got an X in America! For me, the nastiest kill is in the second film

Very neat 70's martial arts films- and they are so short (about 75 min.), they're easy to squeeze into your timeframe, when you suddenly want to watch some good ol' style action and don't have much time to spare. :D

I was rewatching Last Revenge of the Streetfighter and was reminded that the all the disks menus are mixed up. In this case LRotS has the menu for Return on it. Is this a general mistake that affects all the films or is it small scale and jusr affects a few?

Hi,
Mine's ok so it must be a limited problem. (got mine recently, was yours a first batch?)
I've heard of wrong labels being printed on discs before but never menus and features being mixed up.
Very careless that. :(
Mine's also ok,mind you I only got it a couple of month's ago.

I've recently re-watched these - they're immensly good fun, and well over the top.
If you haven't seen them, amazon.co.uk are doing a great deal on the box set:
The Street Fighter + Return Of The Street Fighter + The Street Fighter's Last Revenge (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0007CTKY8/mondoerotico05)

I agree, no collection is coplete without these - VIVA CHIBA!
Got to add a bit of Chiba to the mix, the Sister streetfighter collection is a must have also, as tough as The first Streetfighter movie, but with the added cheese we all love. Hope you lot have these? there must haves;)

I've had this box set for a while and only just got around to watching the third Streetfighter entry a few weeks back as i want to leave the excellent original to the last as it's my favourite of the lot.
I must admit i wasn't too fussy with The Streetfighter's Last Revenge when i first saw it years ago via a VHS copy sourced from Image's old LD.
But upon witnessing Optimum's beautifully remastered DVD edition i enjoyed this film much more the second time around and can't wait to catch the previous two parts!
I still keep a hold of Diamond's cheap U.S. DVD double bill of the first two Streetfighter outings though. Purely because they use the English dubbed LD prints with some laughable dialogue such as our hard-hitting anti-hero describing one tricky situation as "A load of sukiyaki!":)
