Finally the obscure classic, Lemora (A Child's Tale Of The Supernatural) will be released at the end of August, from the great Synapse (http://www.synapse-films.com/).

Apparently they've done an amazing job with the transfer, because those swines at DVD Maniacs (http://www.dvdmaniacs.net/Reviews/I-L/lemora.html) have whetted our appetites a whole two months early with a fantastic preview. This will be the definitive presentation and possibly, given the nature of the film, one of the best genre releases of the year. Nice one, Synapse.

Looking at the stills, it looks like an incredible transfer. Much better than the washed out colour on my old vhs edition.

Which VHS is that? I have the pre-cert CID tape, which looks pretty good for it's age. I'm sure the DVD will totally blow it away though.

Not sure about the cover for the Synapse disc. It doesn't grab me like Grapes Of Death did, for example.

It was released 7-8 years ago on the eXploited label, along with Dranged, California Axe Murder, Children shouldn't play with dead things and a few other titles I can't remember, but as I said, it was a very washed out, grainy transfer. Not that I expecting anything better, so it's nice to see a decent transfer now!

These smaller specialist labels (Synapse, BU, even Media Blasters, et al) have become something of a godsend during the DVD revolution for collectors of less commercial material
