There was another (American TV movie, I believe) that was somewhat reminiscent of GASLIGHT in which a naughty husband tried to make his wife believe she’d gone loopy. I seem to remember the wife was haunted by the memory of a sister whose death she felt responsible for. Pretty sure the film opened with a flashback of the cliff-top death of the sister (played out against a storm-ravaged night), with the wife waking shortly after. There’s another scene that I remember in which she sees a disfigured childhood doll appear in her bedroom. Would love to know what this is – probably a heap of shit but I’d like to catch it again anyway.
