Lucas has been said for a few years that he intends to put them out in 3D and now it looks like a certainty.

I suppose it could be done, they did use a lot of model work and blue screen on Star Wars. They have reworked animation and stop motion with Toy Story and The Nightmare Before CHristmas(which does work in 3-D)

You know the STAR WARS Death Star trench dog-fight finale is gonna be be bad-ass in 3D. Bring it Lucas.
(The only problem is catching yourself trying to lick the patron's ice-cream three rows in front during the interval). :p

Lucio Fulci's "Zombie Flesh Eaters" in 3D, complete with a new take on the eye spike scene and shark/zombie fight over the audience's head.
