The British cult classic Exposé / House on Straw Hill (James Kenelm Clarke, 1975) starring Fiona Richmond is being remade...

I know the films producer and this is definitely rolling... Martin Kemp is directing!

Martin Kemp is directing!

I have nothing constructive to add to this statement.

Hey...Jane March is in it. A few of us were talking about her a couple of weeks ago and reminiscing about going to see The Lover at the cinema, many years ago.

This was back in the days when nudity wasnt so freely available online, of course.

Well, let's hope he stays true to the original and not cast the Udo Kier character with some musclebound American actor. The original film wasn't that long so at least he won't have to cut a long story short. I wonder if he's highly strung? That could affect his abilities as a director. You never know it could turn out to be gold

I met Martin briefly when I worked at Redemption, and wound up recording some ADR dialogue for his short film Karma Magnet. I can't say I know him very well at all, but he was very pleasent and seemed to no what he wanted as a director.

Okay I have a few things to say about this.

1) hopefully any new version will mean the original gets an uncut dvd release
2) there is no Udo Keir part - they've changed the sex and this now looks like a two, rather than three hander
3) Isn't Jonathan Sothcott the guy who wrote the Dark Side Amicus book (and then had his name removed)?
4) What in the hell is this?????

I'm sceptical about this, and I really don't want to be because (a) I love the original, and (b) Jonathan Sothcott is a very nice bloke.

However, having recently viewed "Karma Magnet", I have to say it was a little slick in a way you'd hope a reworking of Expose wouldn't be. Still, Kemp's been in the business long enough to know what he's doing, and it's not like he's been attracted to some mainstream horror fare - he's clearly clued up.

If it's not everything we hope for, we can always keep a look out for Sothcott's other forthcoming production venture, "Kung Fu Flid" (I kid you not) :D

Kung Fu Flid is already completed. it's available for viewing at the FilmLounge (www.filmlounge.com ).

... I noticed that on IMDb. I honestly thought it was a wind-up. I can only assume "Kung Fu Flid" is nowhere near as offensive as it sounds??

The trailer is on You Tube. Great title, but it looks like a piece of shit.

I don't doubt this has been mentioned on this forum, but I did a search and couldn't find it anywhere... Martin Kemp directs a remake of Exposé aka The House on Straw Hill - and the real surprise is that Linda Hayden features in the cast, despite often making it clear that appearing in the original was one of the regets of her career.

Does anyone have any advance word on this one? And when is it due out?

It depends on if and who decides to acquire it for DVD release etc.

Thanks for that, Marc - sorry, couldn't find the thread when I did a search... have there been many reviews of this film yet?

No reviews yet, but it has been picked up by Revolver Entertainment.

I too am very surprised by this. I recall that during the Linda Hayden – An Angel For Satan featurette which was included on the Anchor Bay UK release of Blood On Satan's Claw she was indeed very derogatory towards the original Expose

Presumably she needs the money?
