Not that I know you or anything Marc, but you don't strike me as the kind of bloke who'd be bothered by the Lions tour or the Ashes....
As for this - I'm just too comfortable with my Virgin service (despite lack of HD) that I can't be bothered changing.

You're right, I have zero interest in sports but that doesn't mean others here aren't interested. They show heaps of movies in HD too.

With due respect, it couldn't have come at a WORSE time. Premium TV channels are one of the first things to go when people are cutting back - and with sports Sky is around 45 quid a month once the offer is through.
I liked Sky when I had it - but the fact that they ever charge for the box is insane.
Anyway, there was a time when I'd of jumped all over this - but as I say, it couldn't have come at a worse time. Sky know it too - these offers will be out there for a while with the economy tanking....

One of the reasons I chose Virgin over Sky, is that any repairs with Virgin are free(as are the calls to their call centres) Sky repairs, after the 1 yr warranty runs out, is at least £75 per call out, plus their bloody rediculous charges for calling their call centres.

The competition is getting fierce. Freesat is looking better by the day.

I do know you and this is the funniest thing I've read all day! Did you actually write that or was it a cut and paste from some press release? :D

sky+HD looks amazing, but be warned there's very few channels in there HD package! Sports and movies are Premium at extra cost. I was getting SD sky, Movies & the HD subscription and it was costing me £49 a month.
I've now dropped back down to SD sky & the HD subscription at £31 a month which is still not cheap. The basic HD package gives you around 15 channels, the best being Channel 4 HD IMO, they show some great movies in HD with full surround.
I have to admit I was happy with my Humax Freesat HD box, only problem being was I couldn't record that's why I went with sky+HD.
Humax now have a HD PVR and once the price drops later in the year I will be going back to it.
sky+HD has a lot to offer, but to take advantage of it.......You'll pay for it.

Another reason I chose Virgin, is you get free Setanta Sports with it.
