I regularly visit Shameless Films' (http://www.shameless-films.com) website/forums and they're open to releasing this film but haven't made a decision yet as it's viewed as risky with it being such a cult title.

I've already asked the same question over there and it's receiving some fairly good feedback though I was expecting better. So my question is, how many of you would definitely buy a copy of this film if Shameless were to release it?

Here is the trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDC_MJm6nb4).

Given Shameless' track record so far I would certainly hold off buying the Swedish release if there is any chance of the Shameless boys putting it out over here in old blighty.

This is the sort of film I can imagine being a rights nightmare though. Did it ever get a theatrical release here in the UK back in the day?

The quality of the sound is the only real weakness of the otherwise decent AWE release- so if "Shameless" get hold of an English language audio track in only slightly better condition, I'd probably double dip for that one.:)

If Shameless could get hold of it I'd gladly buy a copy, I think it might be a little pricey rights swise though.

Isn't this film supposed be in the public domain?

Nope. There's really no such thing as Public Domain on a movie this recent in Europe.

In most cases these days the term "public domain" is actually secret code for "yes I know I'm blatantly infringing copyright laws but if I add a "Public Domain" disclaimer hopefully no one will bother to prosecute me".

I'm not doubting what you say re films in the public domain but what I'm now really curious about is how the likes of Brentwood and Mill Creek etc can release these films and sell them via major retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, Deep Discount etc... why do they never get sued?

Reaps, what do you know mate? PM me the answer please.

Hi there!

I recently bought the Danish DVD release (JÄTTEHAJEN) and am very happy with it. The film is presented in widescreen and the quality is very good. Excellent movie, by the way, with some fantastic shark attack sequences and an awesome score.

Never seen this one,so like most of you,i'll put my money where my mouth is and buy a copy,if it evre gets released here.We all know that most of those hard to find italian flicks are very pricey rights wise, but almar and the boys at shameless were having a meeting today to lay something concrete down on what to go for in their next batch of releases.Hopefully this will be one of 'em.
And blastfighter!;)

I also got the danish release of this film a few days ago, and sure its great to see it get a legit dvd release but in my opinion the transfer was a bit on the bad side. Like between vhs and dvd, but then again I waited a long time for this one:rolleyes:

Just dont expect it to look like the other Another World relases because it dont.

Perhaps if Shameless could get a hold of this they could snap up the rights to a few other cheesy Italian shark pictures and release a "Spaghetti Jaws Collection".

The Last Shark together with Lamberto Bava's Devouring Waves and Bruno Mattei's Cruel Jaws... i'd buy that for a dollar. :D

Sadly I'd imagine the chances of that happening are microscopic, but an Italian trash fan can still dream!

In all seriousness I may pick up the Scandinavian release soon as this is one film too good to watch via a ropey VHS rip.
