I'd be interested in seeing some of this. The concept of Throbbing Gristle still intrigues me - the extreme performance arts roots, the sense of genuine subversion, Genesis' sinister presence. The whole Oundle School episode was classic TG humour. Didn't they give out little presents to the students after the gig? I'm sure Genesis makes some remark to that effect on the live audio recording.

Unfortunately, I can't really justify to myself paying the price for the set. I think I need to fall in love with music first....which, to be honest, I can't see happening. I like certain tracks but a lot of the more rambling, repetitive stuff just goes in one ear and out the other.

yes, ive got both TGV and TG24, most ive ever spent on anything. was worth it. i like to lie on the floor in the dark and crank it up. best on TGV is Rafters, the last gig (81), and a mixture of the new stuff, yes im very biased but most "music" sounds limp and childish afterwards....

Yeah, its a great set, thehamish convinced me to pick it up after dawdling for months over the price (thanks dude!). I've been a fan of TG since I was 14, some 20 years, and I still listen to TG every couple of days... I saw Enter the Void over the w/end and there's a bit of Hamburger Lady on the soundtrack as well as Coil's ANS drone album...

Here's a question for any TG fans out there - has anyone seen the COUM/TG film After Cease To Exist ?

Wow, what the hell is that Wes Moynihan? If thehamish hasn't seen that then it's going to get his boat floating like a dolphin covered in ping-pong balls.

I wish... that pic was taken from Chris Carter's Flicker page (sone nice vintage TG pics over there as well). I don't think we'll ever see this one - it would have been a perfect addition to the TG DVD box. I saw one of Cosey's hardcore porn flicks a few weeks ago - Sex Angle (1976, 35mm, colour, 23min)...
