Can you buy the 1967 series of The Avengers (the first in colour) on DVD? I watched an episode from it on BBC4 last Friday called "You Have Just Been Murdered" and very much enjoyed it.

Aren't they in this set, with more sets needed to complete it:

The Avengers : The Definitive Dossier 1967: amazon.co.uk (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00005B0F7/ref=nosim?tag=mondoerotico05)

By the way, I bought this yesterday:

I think it's only a matter of time before these re-issued so it may be worth waiting.

I was hanging on for the supposed r2 Cinema Club re-issues but I got fed up of waiting & picked up the Emma Peel Megaset containing all her 51 episodes on r1 cheaply( in slim cases). The set also has some rare early episodes on the extras disc:

BBC Four have gone back to Diana Rigg's first series of The Avengers (in black and white). I saw the end of last night's second episode "The Master Minds".

We need a brand new remastered box set of all the original Avengers series.

We do - and I'd buy. Trouble is there were so many episodes it'd be huge. But then again, The Avengers is quintessentially British, and just demands attention.

It shouldn't be too difficult to get interviews for a boxset as most of the cast from the whole series are still alive. I'd only want to get the episodes from the Patrick Macnee/Diana Rigg era.

I bought all the whole lot (with the exception of the missing first series episodes) from Amazon as they've all been released in Holland:-
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AVENGERS-Complete-Collection-1961-1969-DVDs/dp/B001NVGCNY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1257362346&sr=8-4
Granted the new UK releases should look nicer, but they'll do me & I won't have to wait for them all to come out here.Damn good value too as I picked up the lot for about £90.00.

I have the US box sets from A&E, 22 box sets in all including the 2 New Avengers ones, plus the Emma Peel Bonus Disc that came with the reissued Emma Peel megaset.

Somehow, I still feel attracted to the UK sets though. Guess I just like The Avengers. ;)
