This interesting (if a bit slow) horror film scripted by news reader Gordon Honeycombe is getting a welcome DVD release courtesy of Odeon Entertainment.

It's a releief to see that these titles are getting decent artwork after some of the travesties foisted upon us by Redemption! (see below to see what I mean)

The UK art looks like the cover of a romance novel, though on the plus side at least there’s some colour and its relevant to the film.

I got the Redemption disc for £2.50 some time ago, it went straight onto my “to watch” DVD pile and hasn’t been touched since. I have to be in the right frame of mind to watch ‘slow’ films, and there’s always been something else I’d rather watch than this. I’ll get to it one day though…

The film is rather like a romance novel, ironically - until the end ;)

Is it me or is the idea of Gordon Honeycombe writing a supernatural love story a bit...well...funny. He just never seemed the type.

Well I can also confirm that it's far from your average horror film. An interesting piece of trivia - it was issued n the US as The Exorcism of Hugh.

:D The Exorcism Of Hugh indeed ! That's one stupid title.

I watched the Redemption disc of this a while ago.

It is quite slow moving and probabaly not for all tastes, but I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Probably not one for numerous revisits, but definitely worth watching.
