Has anyone here seen the horror/thriller film American Crime which stars Rachel Leigh Cook, Annabella Sciorra and Cary Elwes? It was shown in the early hours of Sunday morning on Zone Horror. Never seen it and am interested in getting the R2 DVD. I found out about it when looking at the listing page for another R2 disc on Amazon.co.uk. The film's plot sounds interesting, I like the front cover artwork and the use of blue in the front cover artwork.

Are there any extras on the Region 1 and 2 discs?

I watched this on zone horror several months ago. It's an interesting attempt to make a film which comments in the kind of trash investigative TV which is common on US TV. Cary Elwes' performance is a little annoying but the twists kept me interested.

Life is full of surprises - and that anyone got through this is a new one on me. Awful doesn't even begin to describe the film, from the awful performances to the terrible editing. Yeah, I know some of the performances were deliberately over-the-top, but I just couldn't stand it. It takes and age to get going too - and never rises above TV roots.

Terrible film.

I thought for a minute you were talking about AN AMERICAN CRIME - now that is a different kettle of fish entirely.

Its an excellet film, but very hard going. Then again, the film based on Jack Ketchum's novel THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, which is also (loosely) based on the real life case, is one of the most gruelling hard-to-watch films I have ever seen.
