THE BEYOND is Fulci's definitive film and in my book the greatest Italian Horror film of all.
HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY, ZOMBIE and CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD are all awesome too.
CONTRABAND, NEW YORK RIPPER are both good.
Fulci was an amazing talent.

The Beyond really is the definitive Fulci movie but as far as the (entertaining in my opinion) Black Cat goes, I'd avoid the R2 as the picture quality is fairly substandard.

I keep meaning to order the AB R1 DVD but something always seems to get in the way...
Very underrated Fulci film.
I just want CONQUEST uncut on DVD now and then i'll be happy.

Prefer Zombie (Flesheaters) and House by Cemetary to The Beyond. But The Beyond does have the greatest audio commentary of all time!

Anchor Bay's DVD of Four Of The Apocalypse is excellent and well worth getting, great film aswell.

I watched Contraband the other day courtesy of Blue Underground and thought it was a fantastic blood soaked gangster movie. It reminded me of Scarface a little with the that funny disco song popping up now and again.

The best Fulci film is The House by the Cemetery, no contest. It's exactly what I thought a horror film would be like when I was too little to watch one.
I've got the Anchor Bay 2-disc set of The Beyond and The House by the Cemetery, and The Beyond is good, certainly, but it sorely lacks focus and pace. Granted, it is bloody scary at times, but it doesn't quite reach the horrific heights of House (nor does it have a hilariously inappropriate Henry James quote at the end - 'nuff said).

THE BEYOND. Got to be, for it's fantastic gore and striking vision of hell. And the most irritating piano-led soundtrack ever!
HOUSE BY... is a close second, then NEW YORK RIPPER third.
I even enjoyed NIGHTMARE CONCERT - but maybe I should add that to the Guilty Pleasures thread?!
Anyone know if the forthcoming UK disc of NC is uncut??

The black cat,
This was my introduction to fulci, not bad at all and patrick magee's last film as well.
Zombie of course is still a good laugh.

While I love THE BEYOND, HOUSE and CITY etc, I think DON'T TORTURE A DUCKLING has to be my fave Fulci, and also have high regard for ONE ON TOP OF THE OTHER and THE PSYCHIC.

While not likely to be anyone's fave Fulci film, this has just been passed uncut by the BBFC with a 15 cert. Screen Entertainment will be releasing it on their Hardgore label shortly, in widescreen.

i've always found house by the cemetary too plodding to remain interesting, not a patch on the atmosphere of city...
but naples connection/smuggler etc etc- wins hands down every time with me......
